One thing that HAS to happen early today:

Offensive plays for Peja before Bruce Bowen enters the game. We need to get Peja going against Michael Finley, or else Bowen will come in and Peja will be nonexistent for the rest of the game. Really hope Byron goes to Peja in the first couple minutes.

In other news, the Spurs are the second worst offensive boarding team in the league but far and away the best defensive rebounding.

Think David West maybe is eager to show the Spurs what he looks like when healthy?

So far so good ..

What?!?!?

Ugh. Hornets aren’t on yet. Celtics-Hawks with 5 seconds left, what a game.

by atthehive on Dec 17, 2008 8:44 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

As usual

Hornets not shown on the beginning of the doubleheader…

by atthehive on Dec 17, 2008 8:49 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Here we go

Celts game finally over!

Great.

Peja’s out.

Haha

Always something this year it seems

by atthehive on Dec 17, 2008 8:51 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Meh.

Been that kind of year… hopefully we’re getting all the bad luck out of the way in the early season.

Wait, seriously?

Something definitely up. I think he’s on his way out. Which makes me majorly sad : (

by atthehive on Dec 17, 2008 8:59 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Has there been some buzz about him leaving?

It’s a weird situation with him.

Just shot off a few e-mails to a couple guys who might know

Hopefully they get back to me soon. I’d be stunned if he’s not at least on the trading block…

by atthehive on Dec 17, 2008 9:05 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Allegedly, he had the flu bad Yesterday…

by m-W on Dec 17, 2008 9:05 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Wow

Brown starting over Mo-Pete… Either Mo is hugely on the trading block or something else is up

by atthehive on Dec 17, 2008 8:55 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

What a strange game

15-14 at the end of one…

by atthehive on Dec 17, 2008 9:12 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

So far the pace of this game is 76

Or about 12 possessions below both these team’s averages

Nice shot Posey

Marks v Bonner

is uncomfortable to watch. Can both teams play four-on-four while they get spray tans?

Killer block and board by DX on Duncan.

by m-W on Dec 17, 2008 9:24 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

It was, especially the board

Duncan eats up his own missed or blocked shots and ends up in better position the 2nd time. Great block, and then greater job getting right to the loose ball

There's the record breaking steal

Nice. But the offense looks abysmal right now

by atthehive on Dec 17, 2008 9:35 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Great crowd reaction...

…well before it was announced, the crowd was on it’s feet and waving their towels.

by m-W on Dec 17, 2008 9:39 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Nice

Did you guys make a sign?

by atthehive on Dec 17, 2008 9:41 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

CP wheels in a circle around everyone...

…and finds TC for the alley oop. Awesome

by m-W on Dec 17, 2008 10:14 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

i hope we keep up the intensity

we have to continue to play good d

by Ace Boogie on Dec 17, 2008 10:16 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

lack of scorers is killing us tonight

west and cp3 need more help with scoring. prolly will see a lot of posey to finish the game.

by Ace Boogie on Dec 17, 2008 10:20 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

We just don't have enough scoring without Peja.

They are collapsing on west and the rest of the offense isn’t fluid.

honor rasheed wallace

by Cablinasian on Dec 17, 2008 10:39 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Agreed

They are just dumping it into DX and the Spurs no we have nothing else without CP in the game.

by m-W on Dec 17, 2008 10:41 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

this is hard to watch now

the spurs are mving the ball well finding open shooters. we have too many turnovers

by Ace Boogie on Dec 17, 2008 10:37 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Agreed

Let’s see if we can make one last run of it with Paul

by atthehive on Dec 17, 2008 10:41 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

the spurs are out working us

if any moves are made, a legit sg to get to the rack is needed

by Ace Boogie on Dec 17, 2008 10:46 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

no one comes to mind though

its easy for me to say that, but there is no one available off the top of my head

by Ace Boogie on Dec 17, 2008 10:53 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

we have to start running sets for times like this

the spurs are getting good looks while we’re struggling. too many perimeter shots that are not falling.

by Ace Boogie on Dec 17, 2008 10:52 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Good point

I’m actually working on a motion vs. sets post, we definitely need something for these situations

by atthehive on Dec 17, 2008 10:55 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

juju is a true professional

always rooting on his teammates. maybe west needs to take more when open. better him than devin brown, lol!

by Ace Boogie on Dec 17, 2008 10:57 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Haha

There was an interview with West this summer where he said the only thing he wants to improve this year is three point shooting. So far so good

by atthehive on Dec 17, 2008 11:00 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

posey

hope that was the dagger. might be a very ugly win. spurs missed a lot of open shots.

by Ace Boogie on Dec 17, 2008 11:02 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

DAGGER DAGGER DAGGER

Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaames Poseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyy

by atthehive on Dec 17, 2008 11:03 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

In other news

We’ve held SA to 9 fourth quarter points. Way to step up the D.

by atthehive on Dec 17, 2008 11:04 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

CP3 wins the tip.

Incredible.

honor rasheed wallace

by Cablinasian on Dec 17, 2008 11:07 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Haha

Paul Owned Ginobili on that one

by atthehive on Dec 17, 2008 11:07 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

If you watch the reply on the jump...

…I swear Ginobli flopped on it.

by m-W on Dec 17, 2008 11:49 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Haha

I’ll look for it when I re-watch the game

by atthehive on Dec 17, 2008 11:53 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

hard fought win

still hate the play of marks and brown.

by Ace Boogie on Dec 17, 2008 11:09 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

22 games without anything even close to resembling a steady rotation is waaay too long

Even when you throw in Peja’s and Tyson’s ailments, it’s still ridiculous.

by atthehive on Dec 17, 2008 11:29 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

thats what i'm saying

its about time to insert juju, ely, and mopete when he gets over the flu. bowen in spot minutes for energy. i would like to see the hornets take a chance on a d league player.

by Ace Boogie on Dec 17, 2008 11:51 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

big ups to dwest

those were timely and needed 3 pointers

by Ace Boogie on Dec 17, 2008 11:12 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

We definitely missed Peja and Mo.

But CP and DX (especially with his two late 3s) willed the team to a victory.
