Hornets Trade 1st Round Pick To Portland

What Could've Been

340x_medium(This is CDR playing in the Arena in 2007)

The Hornets and Trailblazer have agreed to a deal in which the Blazers get the Hornets 1st round pick and the Hornets get cash considerations. The deal was done Tuesday night and the teams have scheduled a trade call with the league for this morning to make the deal official.

I really don't understand this. Why would we give away our first round pick for just cash considerations? You would think that if you were giving away your first round pick you would try to accurie a package that would make it worth your while. This really makes me mad because we could've gotten Chris Douglas-Robert out of Memphis. He would've fit perfect in Byron Scott's offense. So much for that now!

Thanks

I really thaought when I read that on the BE, that there would be at least a second rounder thrown in, with out the garenteed contract and all. but think of it this way, your owner has gone on record saying that he would not give max money to anyone, granted this was before cp’s emergence as the greatest thing since sliced bread, but still, he is kinda,...well he seams a little… um… cheap? this way he saves money not having to pay a rooky a garenteed 1rst round contract, plus gat some cash back, thats a spread of like 3 to 5 mil? anyways, someone close to him will likely point out that that will go a long way in sofening the impending blow on his wallet when Pauls contract matures, and every team in the league( expecially the Blazers) are taking a crack at him. This allmost make me regrett getting the pick, cause we didnt pay your owner, we just gave Paul some money.

CDR was perfect

for the Hornets!!! I can’t believe he will not be in teal next year. He was going to be groomed to be the starting sg and a complementary scorer. I guess atthehive’s draft analysis is essentially moot. I kinda feel sorry for atthehive.

I know that's exactly what I said

New Jersey got a steal.

If we don’t do something in FA I’m going to be really upset that we passed up on CDR.
