Slow start.
Until Peja finally bangs in a deep one.

Crescent City Connection!
Wow. On the replay, CP actually got hit on the head before he passed…

With 2 refs
there will be alot of things not called. They should just play through it and not harp on it.

Yeah, I've groused about a few.
But the Blazers blogs are going nuts too. Just gotta play on.

Travis Outlaw front-rims the free throw.
Gil goes, Outlaw committed a crime on that shot. Nice. Nice.

Tyson and Bayless
tangled up at the buzzer. Up two at the half, hopefully we can pull it higher in the second.

How hurt is Tyson
i have the portland announcers and they only showed bayless walking off. Is it really bad for Tyson?
by RonD on Jan 2, 2009 10:09 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I have the Portland announcers as well
Tyson was able to get up, I think he limped off a bit. Not too sure.
by Junsier on Jan 2, 2009 10:10 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I hope its not too serious.
He finally had a first half where he didn’t have 2 or 3 fouls. Hope he can get it retaped and play through it. He was doing a great job in first half.
by RonD on Jan 2, 2009 10:11 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
He looked like he was walking it off
At least it happened going into the break.

Hello
I’m visiting from blazersedge.
I am biased. It looked to me like Chandler hit Przybilla’s broken wrist on purpose. I’d like to know your guy’s opinion of it.
by Bedhead on Jan 2, 2009 10:48 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
chandler threw some bush-league garbage
correct calls were made, and I would assume chandler gets suspended
by Hockey on Jan 2, 2009 10:50 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Tyson's not a dirty player
They’ve just always hated each other. I doubt he even knows which wrist is injured.
And it didn’t look like it was hurting Przybilla much when he went after Chandler.

If he has a broken wrist...
..that’s the chance he takes.
by m-W on Jan 2, 2009 10:55 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I agree with that to a degree...
When athletes play injured, they run the risk of aggravating said injury.
Not that it’s cool for someone to go after an injury, but it happens (see Horry, Robert in last year’s playoff series).
Either way, I don’t think Tyson was going after the injury. He was just pissed and lost his temper. He wasn’t thinking enough to figure out which wrist was hurt. Had he been thinking at all, he wouldn’t have thrown his forearm.

by hldomingue on Jan 2, 2009 11:06 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
If Pryz really wanted to protect his hand,
he wouldn’t have been putting it all over Tyson. It’s obvious from their body language that they’d probably been doing it to each other all game and were pissing each other off. First of all, I really doubt his wrist is broken. Tough to play through that. And if it is, you gotta be smart and protect it, not instigate this kind of trouble (not the pseudo-fight, just the heavy contact).

I know the guys don't trust Hilton all that much...
…but that’s twice I’ve seen him with a midget guarding him and they pass it to him way too late, and the play busts.
by m-W on Jan 2, 2009 10:49 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
they look so scared to pass it into the post tonight.
Like they know something will go wrong. so many passes are poked away from behind and a hornet turnover

Przy is a dick.
How bailed out is that that the refs again gave a double foul on him and Hilton, when it was obviously him throwing Hilton to the ground?

Good Game
Looks like the Tyson-Pryz scandal got the Bees runnin’ some more. I’m praying they don’t suspend Tyson, seeing as Pryz threw almost the same hit at him as well. Although this would have been a completely different game with Brandon Roy in, I’ll gladly take the win.
I’ll try and have a recap up soon; Geaux!
by Junsier on Jan 2, 2009 11:24 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Great Win!
I love that they responded well to the ejection. I hope Tyson isn’t suspended seeing it wasn’t a fist thrown. But then they suspended Dirk for that elbow. So we’ll see tomorrow.
CP came up big when he needed to. 1 down 3 to go.
by RonD on Jan 2, 2009 11:24 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
For the phantom elbow.
That was a horrible call. Especially after the super-flop by Kirilenko earlier in the night, and the 2 plus fouls that didn’t get called perpetrated against Dirk before his “foul”. Seriously, what were the refs watching on replay that thought that merited a suspension?
If the same refs are watching Tyson, he’s doomed. On the flipside, if Hilton plays this good next game, we might just survive it. But, um, Byron, activate Ely.
by m-W on Jan 2, 2009 11:27 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
The one thing I can feel good about tomorrow if Tyson is suspended
is that they played w/o Tyson on Tgiving in Denver and won with Hilton and Ely. I think they can get another W if they play the right way.
The thing about suspensions is the league officials are able to review everything about it. And for them to still agree Dirk should be suspended lets me know this league is softer than charmin. When Shaq flattened Stuckey he wasn’t suspended. Why would this call for one?
by RonD on Jan 2, 2009 11:45 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Just watched that one again.
Actually, Tyson’s has more in common with Dirk’s. Both of theirs were extra-curricular. Shaq’s was a basketball move. Tyson’s screwed.

hopefully tyson isnt suspended
however hilton played very well today on the glass, and defensively with the rejection. and hey like hiltons said hes undefeated as a starter and utah is playing L.A. now so hopefully theyll be tired

As a Blazer fan and Hornet fan.
I try to watch the game with an open mind.
The reason that Tyson was ejected was because he hit Przybilla’s injured wrist. Whether he was purposely gunning for the wrist or not is hard to know… but when you start a fight by hitting someone on the part of their body that is broken the refs will be sympathetic toward the injured player.
The funny thing is that Przybilla boxes during the offseason… Chandler should really pick his fights more wisely.
In the end, the two supporting casts played pretty even I thought. CP3 decided to take over and win the game… Blazers had no Roy to go to.
This is a decent win, would have been a horrible loss for the Hornets. The Blazers without Roy aren’t very good.. think Hornets without Paul.
by Cablinasian on Jan 3, 2009 12:05 AM CST reply actions 0 recs
I like the Blazers too
I do think we’ve seen people T’ed up for way less than Przybilla’s shove back already this season. Like, a butt slap and some ridiculous stuff. Should have been doubles.
The two of them do this every game. I have no idea who “started” it, but it’s something that was started two years ago. So it’s hard to say who picked a fight with who.
