I agree.
Attacking in the paint paid off nice dividends at the line last night.
Here’s to hoping the boys got some good rest last night. I suppose if there’s one place on an NBA road trip where there aren’t any distractions it’s Salt Lake… and, I guess you could OKC to that list as well.
GEAUX BEES!

It's probably a good thing
that CP has a personal drive to one-up Deron, because that should help keep his energy level high.

He's had it for several games.
Guess he just does it now…

I don't really care about winning matchup...
as much as winning the game. The stat books will settle this discussion at the end of the day. I don’t cat care what the head-to-heads show.

Yeah, I thought maybe that's why they switched DX on him.
But then TC took him back. Strange. Especially as Millsap and Okur weren’t doing much until they switched back. Seems almost more dumb than strange.

Looks like we've weathered the quarter as far as foul trouble goes
No small feat given our recent games
Ely's really drawing the fouls...
…now if he can just make a FT…

How about some rebounds...
The current count is 17-7 in favor of the Jazz. Oof.

But their defense is decent.
Lead gone from 4 to 1. At least we’re still winning, despite only scoring 2 points in almost 4 minutes.

Sloan doesn't like it
He says it’s only good to hide a player’s defensive deficiencies. It’s been effective at times.

Sometimes
They play what looks like a 2-1-2
by Basketball John on Jan 7, 2009 8:52 PM CST up reply actions
Just saw that.
Looks like a Yao rebound just sealed it.

We're 3-10 from deep.
They’re 7-10 from deep. Historically (if that continues), that has been a mark of defeat. We’re going to have to keep driving, drawing fouls, and making FTs.
Ummmm...just kidding.
I was looking at their FTs. Sorry. (They’re 3-9 now, and we’re 3-11.)

Wow
We have some serious catching up to do. Daniels + Posey = straight up Awful tonight. A 29-13 quarter? Seriously guys?
Looks like the Hornets are tired already.
Paul just got beat by Williams twice and there wasn’t much of a move by Deron.
I don't think so.
They came out with plenty of energy. I think they just got careless, assumed they could keep winning, and were caught off balance when Utah started making shots. Certainly, AD and the backups had no reason to be tired.

It's just looked like
They’re getting beat for boards and not getting back right now.

At the half the bench has
logged in 22 min… just 2 pts/4 reb to show for it.
Starters are getting tired and need some production from the bench.
LOL. That's hilarious.... at halftime.
Rebound rate update: 42% vs. 4%. I don’t know if I’ve seen something like this between comparable teams, if only for a half.
The first few minutes of the 2nd half
will tell if they want to win this thing tonight or go through the motions…

Lots of time left.
And, is it just me, or is D-Will balding?

He's looked like that for awhile
It’s almost like a combdown.

BEE POSITIVE! BEE POSITIVE!
This wouldn’t be the first time we erased a huge deficit in the second half.
http://www.hometownhornets.blogspot.com/
Too much penetration in the paint
either by dribble penetration or passing.
We’re just standing still watching them drive right by. Playing that matador defense.
Nice analogy.
Though I would argue that we just plain aren’t playing defense.
http://www.hometownhornets.blogspot.com/
We're horribly out of position.
They just keep dumping it to bigs down low and they lay it up.

This would be a perfect time to leave CP and Peja on the floor
and sub in Mo, Posey, and Armstrong. But he’ll probably go with Devin, Ely, and Hilt.
by m-W on Jan 7, 2009 9:37 PM CST up reply actions
Let's see
whats JuJu has been learning on the bench. Put him in.
Might as well put the subs in, nothing else is working.
We can't get in front of anyone.
They just keep driving past us. Where’s the D that stopped the Lakers from doing this last night?
Think they left it
in LA.
We’re committing fouls by reaching and not moving our feet. That’s lazy, it won’t work, they know it won’t work, but keep doing it.
Yeah.
After we botched the CCC I decided that we just didn’t have it in us to finish strong.
http://www.hometownhornets.blogspot.com/
i was thinking the same thing
Devin Brown is a basketball God!
this game is not as bad as it looks
they just beat the lakers in a tough battle so obviously they’re gonna be tired so the jazz better not get to exited
Devin Brown is a basketball God!
Just turned the game off...
Somebody call me if we make the biggest comeback in history. Otherwise, I’ll see you guys on Friday. Peace.
