Random Notes:
Our defensive efficiency ranks slipped from 8th to 12th overnight, by virtue of that Utah game. Shows you that our defense sucked, but also that the season is still relatively young.
As noted above, LAC has THE worst offense in the league. Bar none. This should be the perfect cure for what ails us. A quick glimpse at the LAC starting lineup of late indicates why… Mardy Collins starting at point guard and Brian Skinner in the starting lineup. You have to feel for them a little bit.
LAC’s lost 9 games straight. Their last win came in Double OT against an Indiana team that was missing half its players due to the flu. Oh, and they’re on the back end of a SA-NO road back-to-back at the end of a 3 game road trip, including Dallas. In all honesty, I was actually looking forward to seeing Baron and Elton Brand pair up in the West this year. With Al Thornton being the third scoring option, Kaman the solid big next to Brand, Ricky Davis providing depth, Jason Williams backing up Davis, and Eric Gordon playing a great 7th man… that team would’ve been awesome.
So far, so good .
A little lackluster, but it seems like it will be enough against these guys.

so much for the bench sucking
at least for today that is but sool bop really has it going
Devin Brown is a basketball God!
Well every bench probably looks good against the Clippers
But still, nice performance… and our bench has struggled against bad teams too (I remember them dropping the lead in Memphis) so maybe this is a good sign.
In news from around the league
Cleveland up 9 on Boston at half, Atlanta just went on a 9-0 run to cut the lead to… FORTY ONE against Orlando. Yeah… they were down 51-101.
thats freaking sad
i thought our game against orlando was bad but we lost by 20 not 50 damn; just goes to show ya how good of a team orlando could be at home

I have to point out
This has been AWFUL defense by us. We’ve given up 44 points on 35 possessions… which comes out to a 125 efficiency. LAC has a 100 season average, by far worst in the league. So we’re making them look all time great right now. The slow pace kinda hides it, but we’re giving up layup after layup.
Funny
I just said that to TT6! This offense is pathetic and they almost put up 50. Byron is probably reaming them right now despite the score.

He'd better!
49 pts on 40 possessions…. If we repeat that in the 2nd half, I will be seriously worried about our D. Steve Novak has 12 pts in 12 mins!
Yeah I was just thinking about that..
A double digit lead is nice but this should be an even bigger smackdown than it is. I want to see the O and the D clicking together… if Orlando can do it to the Hawks than the Hornets should be able to do it to the worst offensive team in the league. Step up D.
Still pretty bad D
Anyways, saw this over at ClipsNation’s game preview. Pretty funny:
“All Star for one night. For New Orleans let’s go with Rasual Butler. There is a precedent – in March of 2006 he scored 32 against the Clippers, which I’m going to say is his career high, without even looking it up, because that’s how I roll.”
Clips fan here...Gordon just not getting any calls
