Gonna need to see some better defense tonight...

For the Hornets to have a chance.

This could be a great game if the Hornets show up.

by Caleb462 on Nov 11, 2009 7:59 PM CST reply actions

Definitely.

Let’s hope they can apply the lessons learned against the Clippers to a tougher opponent.

Once again..ESPN

Has decided not to show the Hornets’ game here in NZ. Instead, I had to watch the “blowout” of Cleveland vs. Orlando

Why does Devin even try to drive to the hoop?

He has the worst leaner I’ve ever seen because he always goes way too strong and just completely misses. I’ve come to the conclusion that this team can’t and won’t get a playoff spot as long as they keep this same team and coach. Changes need to be made and this dreadful inconsistency is a sure indicator of that.

I feel that Chris Paul will want to leave.

He can’t stay in this atrocity of a team. This is not a professional basketball team its a bunch of scrubs.

by Grayson on Nov 11, 2009 10:35 PM CST up reply actions

I think people are jumping the gun on this

Paul has never expressed any such desire… and yeah Im sure hes frustrated but hes still in the very early part of his career and there is plenty of time for the Hornets to right the ship. Even if this season is a total bust… that doesn’t mean CP has no future with the Hornets.

Once Peja’s contract is up the Hornets will have a lot of room to work with.

Here are the stats at half-time

Phoenix:
FG 29-46
3pt 7-14
Tot. Rbds/Off. Rbds 23/10
Assists 17

New Orleans:
FG 19-44
3pt 5-12
Tot. Rbds/Off. Rbds 9/5
Assists 8

Even if we get blown out here.

Losses against Suns, Celts, Spurs, and Lakers all on the road, don’t exactly make us the Clippers.

On the surface no....

But when the team fails to compete in a single one of those games and get absolutely blasted… and when your just barely scrape by the Kings and Mavs at home, and get your only win against the Clips, well… this team is BAD right now, real bad.

by Caleb462 on Nov 11, 2009 10:51 PM CST up reply actions

So y'all think we're desperate then?

How about Iverson? He’s available December 15. Count the days.

by m-W on Nov 11, 2009 10:49 PM CST reply actions

I think he'll get waived

we might scoop him up but i doubt it. Not sure if i want him anymore because this team is only good at 1 position. Huge changes need to be made, rebuilding season here we come.

Do you think the Sixers will take Okafor for Dalembert?

I think it has come down to that lol. BIG BIG changes needed. No one but CP3 should be safe on this team.

by LocoSaint on Nov 11, 2009 10:56 PM CST up reply actions

Okafor sucks on defense

Loom at the stat lines for opposing centers this season. Opposing centers are shooting maybe 65% against him.

He has merits on offense and rebounidng, but on the other end he’s woeful. there’s a reason why Charlotte couldn’t make the playoffs with this guy in the middle.

by MZURK on Nov 11, 2009 11:01 PM CST up reply actions

I dont know about that

Charlotte was an excellent defensive team with Mek manning the paint. Charlotte’s was and is scoring.

Now I’ll admit that I haven’t been impressed with his defense so far but Im willing to give that time.

by Caleb462 on Nov 11, 2009 11:04 PM CST up reply actions

I doubt it

Very few teams will take on Okafor’s contract length I think.

by Rohan on Nov 11, 2009 10:56 PM CST up reply actions

It's early

But these early losses count just as much as the stretch run.

This team is devastatingly poor right now.

by Rohan on Nov 11, 2009 10:55 PM CST up reply actions

yep

I expected struggles, but this? Barely even competing? Atrocious defense? Its just really ugly, and after being optimistic all last year I guess I’m a little tired of being dissapointed.

by Caleb462 on Nov 11, 2009 10:57 PM CST up reply actions

Yeah, we've been stinkin the joint up lately.

Basically this team is a bunch of one dimensional players, most of whom are washed up. Think about that one, and you will agree 10000000%.

He’s amazing. all but written off early in his career due to injuries and now, look at him. 16 points, 5 rebs, 3 assists at the half and 37 years old.

take his 96-97 season for instance..

21.4 points per game on 50% shooting, 9.0 rebounds per game, 7.3 assists, 1.8 steals, 0.6 blocks. Beastly.

Does anyone still think that Byron Scott hasn’t lost these guys?

Really?

I mean, I usually try to be “the sky is not falling” guy… but I really have a hard time believing Scott still has a grip on the team. I’d gladly be wrong.

by Caleb462 on Nov 11, 2009 11:24 PM CST up reply actions

WOW

They just said CP3 isnt the best PG in the League because he plays on a bad team. Oh completely ignore how he can completely take over games, but because his team sucks he’s not the best.

Marc Jackson

is not intelligent. Ignore that.

by LSUhornet on Nov 11, 2009 11:14 PM CST up reply actions

Yeah he's really dumb, actually...

Save that Hill comment that he was spot on about (which everyone knows already)… I generally hate the guy. There’s a reason he hasn’t got a coaching job yet…..

by Caleb462 on Nov 11, 2009 11:16 PM CST up reply actions

Yeah, but

If one commentator says it then all of them will say it. Then uneducated sports fans will say it, then apparently it becomes true. It’s basically gossiping.

CP3

had to guard Nash and Amare to get that 24sec call. Seeing a theme?

by LSUhornet on Nov 11, 2009 11:15 PM CST reply actions

Is Peja aware he's supposed to guard someone?

Hill has been wide open about 12 times. Take Peja out he’s not helping.

Haha. I can’t do anything but laugh at this point because otherwise I’ll just be angry.

Jackson propagating the myth that the D'Antoni Suns sucked on defense?

Saying that this Suns team just needs to be in the top 16 in defense.

Oh… so you mean, like D’Antoni’s suns were?

IDIOT.

by Caleb462 on Nov 11, 2009 11:37 PM CST reply actions

Lot of time left

but I don’t see West making 3 straight all-star trips.

by LSUhornet on Nov 11, 2009 11:39 PM CST reply actions

West

is a marginal all-star to begin with. He’s a good player, but he’s no Hall of Famer.

by MZURK on Nov 11, 2009 11:41 PM CST reply actions

Well of course

I dont think anyone has ever or would ever suggest West is a hall of famer. Borderline all-star is about right. Which would be fine on a team with a bit more depth.

by Caleb462 on Nov 11, 2009 11:42 PM CST up reply actions

They called this guy Tragic last year

and we’re making him look like an all-star.

by LSUhornet on Nov 11, 2009 11:42 PM CST reply actions

To be fair, he's matured rapidly.

Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."

"There were arms coming from everywhere, and I knew they weren’t going for the ball," Miller said. "I was just trying to get [the shot] up before they called some crap like ‘on the ground.’ "

"What do you want me to do?" Wright asked. "Do you want me to Derek Fisher him?"

"Give them some fucking credit, i mean for real." Jackson said.

"I just fell on my face for no reason," Bryant deadpanned. "I'm a klutz."

"Fucking right i'm preachin' it!" Carlisle replied.
