Elias: Hornets Have 3rd Longest Winning Streak in OT
It took an extra period, but the Hornets defeated the Mavericks on Wednesday.
New Orleans has won its past 10 overtime games at home, dating back to 2006. That's the third-longest streak in NBA history. The Knicks won 14 straight home OT games from 1988-92, and the Rockets had an 11-game streak from 1976-80.

Whenever we go to OT, we seem to transform into a different team..

We'd still have the longest OT streak
… both road AND home, in the NBA, right? … if not for that game last year when Chris Paul fouled out against the Lakers on that really really dubious call. So the Hornets OT record in the last 2-3 years is SOME RIDICULOUS NUMBER -1. Or did we lose another time I’m not remembering?

We also
lost the last game of the regular season at San Antonio, the one where Michael Finley got wide open and made a three to force OT.

But yeah
Since December 2005, we’re 14-2 in OT.

Okay, last random stat
Before that 14-2 OT stretch, we were 3-11 in the previous 14.

That would be the one
I forgot. I must have blocked the end of last season completely out of my mind. I don’t remember that game at all. Really a good thing— my mind has enough stuff in it, it doesn’t need unnecessarily depressing things!
