Inactives:
Morris Peterson (for being a bad 2), Sean Marks (neck – apparently still), Ike Diogu (same old injury)
Once again, I am stuck here relying on threads and Yahoo! Sports GameChannel. Am I a dedicated Hornets fan or what…lol
Well, Devin being subbed out for Thornton
might give us a chance. That aside, we need a huge game from the big 3, as well as Peja off the bench to be hot. Not much, then. Just, um, everything has to go right. We can do that, right?

Pfft...of course!
You just need everyone to click. Every other team in the NBA can do it, so why can’t we =)
i hate this guy
not a lot of people i can love and hate at once, but my hate for this guy’s pure idiocy is overwhelming
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
thats what happens
when our “Wannabe” All-Star PG Bobby Brown starts running the point.
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
Again I ask..
Why is Scott STILL playing a pure 2nd unit? Why are we not mixing it up with some starters like every other team in the NBA…especially against the Lakers?
at least
i can smile at the commercial where brad garrett gets to tickle a horsey
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
OH MY...
Posey hit a 3. Could this mean he’s gonna be hot tonight?!
Is it just me
or has anyone else noticed that Lamar Odom can literally play any position in the NBA? His range is everywhere,he can post up on you, slam it down, pass like Nash, and play defense.
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
Woah
How did a 5 point deficit in the first half of the first quarter turn to 17 points?
BOBBY BROWN AND HIS MERRY BAND OF MISFITS!
thats how :D
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
Plus, Byron again
chooses to sit CP for too long a stretch.

not much else to cheer about
is it safe to say we need a new 2 guard? One that’s not on this team.
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
Seriously
I mean, it’s been said so many times… but with a solid scoring 2 this team becomes so much better.
I just dont see a backcourt of CP and Iverson working...
It doesnt seem like a good fit, although that’s just a gut response.
Iverson can create his own shot, yeah. I mean, that’s his calling card… and yes that’s what the Hornets need, but Iverson comes with so much baggage… and he’s always been horribly inefficient when it comes to actually making shots.
but he can score
you can’t say that about either of the guys that have started at the 2 guard for us thus far in the season
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
Again I say...
Sean Marks would make a better 2 guard…lol
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYRW2VGLD9k
So um what was Scott saying
when he said Devin Brown plays better defense?
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
This game came at the worst possible time eh?
Team is 2-4 and seemingly a bit demoralized, and now you get to play the Lakers… in LA! I know LA is banged up but still… sucks. Just keep it semi-close….
keeping it within 30
already looks like it’ll be tough. Especially considering how we collapse in the second half.

Why you would bench 6'7" Mo tonight
of all nights, is mind-boggling. He can defend Kobe way better than any other 2 on the roster.
by m-W on Nov 8, 2009 9:31 PM CST up reply actions
truth is
No one can guard Kobe. Let’s put an end to that discussion
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
That's true.
But you really think Devin Brown is a better defender than Mo?

"the 2 guard spot has not been an issue tonight" - Bob
Sorry Bob, but even if Devin is playing fine… its ALWAYS an issue.
D. Brown has scored the most points for the Hornets today…unfortunately, it looks as if it’s still a net negative effect as Kobe’s scored 22.
oh im predicting
Kobe setting a career scoring high tonight. Yes I know, that’s absolutely terrifying.
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
but dont blink
because it could easily be by 20 before u know it
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
Random question
Do you guys call it “peanut butter and jelly” or “peanut butter and jam”
It's very interesting
How our cultures are still quite different
Devin Brown
with an AWFUL defensive performance. And even worse on the D-boards.
Easily a net negative today. Yes, Kobe’s a tough guard, but he’s giving away free points left and right.
But, but...
CST says he is playing great! How could Bob and Gil, those bastions of basketball knowledge, be wrong?
I hate CST.
The funny thing
is I used to really like Bob, like 10 years ago, back when he was on radio.
How things have changed…
One thing I hate...
Is the way they portray everything – everything is always fine, and everything is always going to be fine. Now I realize that part of their job is promoting the Hornets, and they need to keep viewers interested. But I just wish they were a bit more genuine.
I just hate the whole Laker team..
since the day I was born
i only liked the Shaq days
All the other eras can suck it
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
who doesnt?
i think even derek fisher hates derek fisher.

Our end quarter defense was one of the worst in the league last year
Good to see we’ve turned it around this season…
Yep
Always been horrible, just horrible on the last possesion of quarters.
THAT is definitely a coaching issue.
We make adjustments
that usually help the opposite team. How bout that coaching!? Let’s see some more Bobby Brown!
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
Well since its half time
some people should check out my blog and vote in my little poll
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
The question is..
We don’t have a 2 guard that another team is willing to accept in a trade lol
Oh woops..sorry!
I thought it was really obvious =D
The UGHHH part about all this
Is we could’ve quite easily had him instead of Posey. The Clippers gave a stupid lowball offer to him that GSW easily matched… we could’ve easily made an offer that would go through since they were stupidly acquiring Maggette and Turiaf that offseason.
Clearly Kelenna
was too young for us to pick up as a free agent. Don’t get ahead of yourself ATH. :P Friggin Bower…
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
Yeah
But isn’t golden state nothing but 2-guards? Or rather a bunch of guys who can play the 2, 3 and 4?
That said, yeah – I don’t think we have anyone that GS would want, really.
Good job.
I stopped updating mine. I should fire it back up again, but I’m bad about keeping up with that sort of thing.
I'm good with it
mainly because all I do is live on websites like these. I mean who doesn’t enjoy putting their 2 cents in?
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
Who's ready for round 2?!!!
More than likely, the Hornets aren’t!
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
well it's safe to say
that with the Hornets you get consistency.
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
Its strange...
Last year, even with the inconsistency and all the struggles… I seriously felt like the Hornets had a chance in EVERY single game. And for the most part, they did.
So different this year…
And the talent level isn’t that different. With everyone healthy the talent level should be higher…
Hell,
the talent level this year is even higher! The problem is that the coach refuses to utilize it. Look what Gregg Williams does with talent on the Saints defense!
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
Hey guys maybe we are just copying the Saints blueprint
Have a great breakout season and have an amazing, emotional playoff run but fall a bit short. Follow it up with two dissapointing seasons, and then finally get it all back together.
So next year we are gonna kick ass, lol.
I mean that would make sense to us
but in Scott world, they’re not ready.
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
They say we need offense
So we put in 2 streaky shooter? Sure makes sense to me.
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
Pretty much
sums up how the Hornets play in the second half
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
The Shinn kids
Look like friggin misfits. Did you see his daughter? Friggin hippie!
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
Please excuse me
for the excessive use of the word “friggin”.
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
I don't get why we're playing zone
It’s a very difficult defense to play even for a competent coach with competent defensive players.
Hey ATH,
Is it safe to say the Hornets have found yet a LOWER gear?
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
When
Adam Morrison, the leagues worst player makes any perimeter defense look bad, then you know you suck.
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
Collison and Thornton
Why have they not got minutes?!??!?!?!
They’re looking so sharp. I know it’s against horrible competition, but UGH
Yeah
I’ve been hiding behind the “Byron messed up his career by not playing him” excuse for a while now.
But he’s had his chances this year and has been completely trash. Just zero improvement in his game since his rookie year.
So, um, Julian.
What was that whole ordeal with you trying to oop it to Collison? How exactly did you earn a starting spot again? Oh yeah, because the other 2 guys are clearly too old to get starters minutes anymore.
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
Rookies only two guys
with positive +/- scores. Garbage time, yeah… but like ath said, they looked sharp.
Thornton’s shot has such a quick release, really good form… and looks to be very accurate. 8 points on 4 shots and a rebound in six minutes Meanwhile Collison picked up 6 points, a rebound and 3 dimes in just six minutes. And no turnovers for either guy.
Oh I know this one!
Get Peja.
Get MoPete.
Sign Posey.
Let Pargo go.
Not bring back Bonzi Wells.
Not coach up young players.
Not give young players a chance.
Give too many minutes to crappy players.
Continue to make the same mistakes game in and game out.
Give up after a team makes a 3 in the 3rd quarter.
And not play the rookies.
That works right?
Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/
I'd be fine with Posey (though I'd put Julian at the 2 then)
But, seriously, I don’t want to hear another Brown’s name called this year, unless we trade both of ours for Shannon Brown.
Does anyone know whether...
They’re saying Marks has a sore neck just to keep him on the inactive list? I’m sick of seeing people write about how badly Armstrong’s been here and at 247…it’s time for change.
This from Yahoo! Sports Team Report
‘Scott called Thornton, who averaged 12 points in the preseason, the Hornets’ most talented shooting guard.
“I just wish he was 6-foot-7,” Scott said of Thornton, who’s listed as 6-4.’
That quote seriously pisses me off.
Stop wishing for what you don’t have and coach properly Byron. And way to build up Marcus’ confidence with @#%$ like that.
Agreed again.
I mean, he’s pretty much the same size as Devin, and way bigger than Bobby. But Byron doesn’t hesitate to give those guys minutes.
Just Terrible
Well, the one good thing about living in the Northeast is I don’t have the temptation of watching a pathetic outing like this. Outside of Paul, Okafor, West, Marks/Diogu and the rookies we have a team with a bunch of pretty significantly flawed players.
Peja- forced to come off the bench because he can’t play defense against other #1’s
James Posey- Don’t know him personally but damn he looks lazy out there. Does he not realize that there is a second half of the game called defense?
Bobby Brown- Inconsistent shooter who loves to jack up shots. No defense.
Julian Wright- Almost completely lost offensively. Looks like a bust
Devin Brown- Can’t create his own shot. He’s a deep bench player on any other team, except if the coach is Byron Scott.
Morris Peterson- Bad defense, injury prone, over the hill. Enough said.
Hilton Armstrong- Can’t back people down, no post authority. He’s just weak.
Devin Brown-

Coach Scott...
The only thing I’ve been happy with Scott so far is his willingness to go with Sean last year. No other coach has ever given Marks a chance to play, he was always just a locker room guy, easy going and always played garbage minutes. So when I complain about Scott’s coaching, I guess I’m also thankful (I use that very loosely) that he was willing to let Marks play.
Now only if Thornton and Collison got more minutes…
I feel sorry for Chris...
I mean he should be on a contending team, yet alas he is not. I think he may have a deep desire to leave as Lebron, Wade, Bosh and others might have the chance to move next summer.
New Orleans Hornets: The most inconsistent team in the NBA.
Unfortunately...
That’s the way it is for a lot of really talented NBA players who deserve to win a championship ring. I’m happy KG has been able to be moved to Boston after 10 years with the T-Wolves.
