I'll have a double recap up of the LA games after this one.

Couldn’t get to it today.

Random thoughts:
- Looks like Peja’s back in the starting lineup. JuJu has certainly got his fair shake of it thus far, and has been terrible.
- For some reason, I keep having this impression that Thornton is really small. Last night, I finally got to see him for the first time in a while… and he isn’t that small. I don’t see why he couldn’t start at the 2 and do an adequate defensive job.
- Going off that though, I don’t think Thornton/Peja would be a viable 2/3.
- Chris Paul leads the league in PER, TS%, eFG%, and Win Shares. This after a “bad” game last night.

Thornton

Is 6’4", 205 lbs. I’d say that’s just right for a 2. Sure, 6’6" would be great, but it ain’t 6’2". Nor is Marcus 175 like BB6, or 160 like Collison.

Baron

will keep posting up Collison. He might need help on that. Baron loves to post, especially against smaller guards.

It's just not fair lol

He’ll do better against the second unit of LA

Marcus needs to stay with his man.

having trouble staying with butler/davis around screens. Got a few open looks already. But yeah I’m loving this group. I think playing with the youngsters has woken Posey up perhaps.

by Will H. on Nov 9, 2009 10:13 PM CST up reply actions

Solid effort by the bench

Collison/Thornton/Posey/Songaila/Armstrong. Nice.

by Rohan on Nov 9, 2009 10:13 PM CST reply actions

Marcus

Shot not falling so he gets to the line. Who else on this team does that?

by Will H. on Nov 9, 2009 10:17 PM CST reply actions

lol

I never thought

I’d rather see Devin shooting a 3 than driving, but his bull rush drives haven’t changed much.

Man o man

Finally when Scott uses the lineup we’ve been screaming for we actually do really well

I almost feel for the Clippers.

They can’t buy a bucket. But, not really. Let’s win this.

We cant buy a win soooooooo

I think we need this more than them haha

What the F Devin?

Where’ve you been

New Orleans Hornets: The most inconsistent team in the NBA.

by Grayson on Nov 9, 2009 10:34 PM CST up reply actions

He's still Devin Brown..

I highly doubt he keeps this up for more than a game or two, but hey… its nice to see. And at the very least maybe it means this year’s Devin Brown is better than last year’s and perhaps equal to the Devin Brown he was a few years prior?

by Caleb462 on Nov 9, 2009 10:36 PM CST up reply actions

He has a horshoe

crammed in some body cavity.

I'm sorry

but both our asst coaches sound like retards.

by Will H. on Nov 9, 2009 10:36 PM CST reply actions

Nice half!

I wanna see a little more from Mek, but uh… no complaints otherwise. The D wasn’t great early but tightened up.

by Caleb462 on Nov 9, 2009 10:38 PM CST reply actions

From the Times-Pic:

“Ike Diogu will be shut down for two more weeks after a medical exam determined that his strained left knee needs a therapeutic procedure”

Rotoworld mentions that his season could be in “jeopardy” ….

by Rohan on Nov 9, 2009 10:52 PM CST reply actions

This is nice

We are finally doing to another team what teams have been doing to us.

And Devin Brown!!!!

by Caleb462 on Nov 9, 2009 10:53 PM CST reply actions

Paul is back

and Devin Brown has been replaced with a 3 ball sniping robot.

by Will H. on Nov 9, 2009 10:53 PM CST reply actions

Yeah he has really improved in that regard...

Not neccesarilly the part of his game he needs to work on the most, but hey… I’ll take it.

by Caleb462 on Nov 9, 2009 11:26 PM CST up reply actions

Rookies struggling with their shots tonight...

Collison in particular. He looks a little nervous with his shot maybe, either too strong or or too short.

Really, really glad to see them getting some extended time. The shots will fall eventually.

by Caleb462 on Nov 9, 2009 11:27 PM CST reply actions

Agreed

They need to take it to the whole to get it going. Good start on that Collison floater.

by Will H. on Nov 9, 2009 11:28 PM CST up reply actions

Yes indeed

I think it’s jitters. Can’t complain about their defense either, and neither of em give up on plays.

Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/

by LocoSaint on Nov 9, 2009 11:28 PM CST up reply actions

Bleh

I hope this doesn’t make Byron second guess himself…

by Rohan on Nov 9, 2009 11:29 PM CST up reply actions

The most important thing to me

Is that regardless of how the rooks have shot, they’ve never let the lead slip when they’re in. And that’s what the bench is supposed to do when you’re winning. Hey, expanding the lead is great, but playing even is okay to when you’re not shooting well.

by m-W on Nov 9, 2009 11:30 PM CST up reply actions

good point

They stay aggressive even when the jumpers arent going down. Good to see.

by Will H. on Nov 9, 2009 11:32 PM CST up reply actions

Surely not...

I don’t think Byron is going to fret too much over some missed jumpers. Atleast I hope not.

by Caleb462 on Nov 9, 2009 11:31 PM CST up reply actions

he shouldnt

he knows this team lacked defense, and so far they’ve held the lead. I don’t see a change any time soon.

Why not us? http://hornetshoops.blogspot.com/

by LocoSaint on Nov 9, 2009 11:33 PM CST up reply actions

I know

While it’s cool for Devin… this is probably the most “off” shooting night Thornton’s had.

Bobby Brown

has the somebody pissed in my cereal look

by Will H. on Nov 9, 2009 11:35 PM CST reply actions

Thornton

0-6 from 3. That won’t happen often.

by Will H. on Nov 9, 2009 11:55 PM CST reply actions

Yeah...

He wasn’t too sharp tonight.

by Rohan on Nov 10, 2009 12:11 AM CST up reply actions

and Devin Brown was...

and Hilton outscored Emeka, and Byron played rookies.
Bizarro game

by Will H. on Nov 10, 2009 12:15 AM CST up reply actions

Well. . .

I do love a Hornets win but I’m nowhere closed to sold after this game. Armstrong, Posey, and D. Brown played uncharacteristically well tonight.
