Ellis, Randolph, Biedrins for Paul and Stojakovic

Why do the Hornets do the deal?

1) Paul himself will not anchor this team to the playoffs and there's nobody you can bring in relevent enough to help do so. Especially with the cap space.

2) This would be the best reasonable package you can get and the Warriors are "willing to do anything and everything" to revive hoops here in the Bay Area.

3) The players:

Monta Ellis - One the best, if not the best, pure penetrator's in the NBA. Can get to the basket at will and is only 24. Will be a perennial All-Star.

Anthony Randolph - I'm sure you've seen him play at LSU. The kid's only 20 YEARS OLD and LOADED with potential. He showed that at the end of last year and went on to have an EXPLOSIVE Summer League. Not having the season I hoped thus far, but you can blame that on his playing time and Nellie and Smart's hatred for the poor kid.

Andris Biedrins - Will give you a double double every single night. One of the best rebounders in the league. One of the best attitudes in the NBA. Only 23 years old with 6 years of NBA experience.

1) What do Hornet fans think?

2) If this is not enough, what else would you want?

A Moment to Reflect

Good package but...

You have to understand something about Chris Paul. He IS the New Orleans Hornets, both from a basketball perspective and from a marketing perspective. He’s the main reason the Hornets can put butts in seats at the game.

Trading him for a non superstar is a terrible economic move for the Hornets, which is ironic because economics seems to be the main reason why people think we wil trade CP. Without a big name, and without winning, there will be even less reason for Hornets fans to go to games, and Shinn loses even more money.

Also, this move doesn’t make us any better because it doesn’t help us at our weakest spots, the wings. Those are great players but we are still left with our problem spots. In fact we are a worse team with the guys you suggested and unfortunately, none of your players would help the Hornets enough at the wing spots. It isn’t because they aren’t good, just wouldn’t fit. Buike is injured, Morrow and Maggette can’t play D, and Ellis is to small to play full time at the 2 guard spot.

As for anchoring this team to the playoffs, maybe not this year, he’s the reason why we’ve been to the playoffs the last two years, and he’s the guy I want leading the charge this year too.

C'mon dude...

Paul is a once in a generation superstar talent, who will likely go down as the best PG to ever play the game. He ain’t a trade piece.
