Shots Need To Fall

We’re creating some good opportunities..
And how about those dribbling skills by CP3 and under the legs of Odom I think it was?

by JChangNZ on Feb 20, 2009 9:50 PM CST reply actions

Peja seems to be in a slump again

He’s had 4 looks and all of them were very makeable. It’s been like this the last few games…

by Caleb462 on Feb 20, 2009 10:01 PM CST reply actions

Pau Gasol?

What’s up with Gasol? Why does he not play Marks, but when Ely’s on him, he becomes aggresive and attacks the rim?
Some good defensive stretches from the Hornets too

by JChangNZ on Feb 20, 2009 10:18 PM CST reply actions

Both teams are very lucky right now

Both sides getting open looks that aren’t falling. Good job on the Hornets for driving into the paint, where they are scoring their points. And then good hustle back the other way. Solid defence from Armstrong on that recent attempt by the Lakers

by JChangNZ on Feb 20, 2009 10:26 PM CST reply actions

Hilton playing very agressive defensively and offensively.

And for the first time ever, HES REBOUNDING! Hallelujah

Devin Brown is a basketball God!

by chandlerfan6 on Feb 20, 2009 10:26 PM CST reply actions

Hilton is playing like a beast right now!

6 boards already. He rarely gets 6 boards in a game!

by Caleb462 on Feb 20, 2009 10:26 PM CST reply actions

Reversal of roles

Bench gets the lead and the starters lose it… looked like they were trying to rush things once the Lakers started the run.

by Caleb462 on Feb 20, 2009 10:37 PM CST up reply actions

No doubt.

Devin Brown is a basketball God!

by chandlerfan6 on Feb 20, 2009 10:41 PM CST up reply actions

Interesting choice (good? bad?) that Coach Scott opts to play Marks until the end of the half

by JChangNZ on Feb 20, 2009 10:43 PM CST up reply actions

Seems to have some mojo on Gasol

by JChangNZ on Feb 20, 2009 10:43 PM CST up reply actions

Yep

Big props to the bench. They made this a competitive game.

by Caleb462 on Feb 20, 2009 10:43 PM CST up reply actions

Fouling issues again

Not referees’ fault this time

by JChangNZ on Feb 20, 2009 11:06 PM CST reply actions

About to be torched if they don’t do something about this Lakers’ run

by JChangNZ on Feb 20, 2009 11:11 PM CST up reply actions

What is Stojakovic doing?

Poor shots, poor defence. He’s been so disappointing this year, what a waste of my fantasy team roster space

by JChangNZ on Feb 20, 2009 11:08 PM CST reply actions

The shots are fine

They just aren’t going in… for whatever reason.

But yeah there’s no excuse to let Luke Walton burn you.

by Caleb462 on Feb 20, 2009 11:09 PM CST up reply actions

DROP HIM!

Devin Brown is a basketball God!

by chandlerfan6 on Feb 20, 2009 11:10 PM CST up reply actions

Luke Walton and Lamar Odom are absolutely torching us.

I say we pull Peja now and show him he NEEDS to produce to play for us.

Devin Brown is a basketball God!

by chandlerfan6 on Feb 20, 2009 11:10 PM CST reply actions

Nah....

You keep him in because eventually they are going to drop… like just now.

Peja’s a vet who usually plays hard… I don’t think he needs to be sent any messages. He’s having a bad night, let’s just hope it gets better.

by Caleb462 on Feb 20, 2009 11:16 PM CST up reply actions

Yes!! Peja

1 shot…now let’s see a few more

by JChangNZ on Feb 20, 2009 11:14 PM CST reply actions

Man I'm getting sick of Van Gundy talking about

the difference between this year and last year is that the Hornets don’t play uptempo anymore. Durr… they never did. Now maybe he just means that they don’t get as many fastbreak opportunities, or don’t push the break quite as much… and in that case maybe so….

by Caleb462 on Feb 20, 2009 11:18 PM CST reply actions

Well its gonna take a lot to come back from this...

But its possible. The bench played great in the 2nd they’ll need to play great in the 4th.

by Caleb462 on Feb 20, 2009 11:29 PM CST reply actions

Down 13

Still manageable. Trying to be optimistic here =)

by JChangNZ on Feb 20, 2009 11:29 PM CST reply actions

Nice little run

Have to play good D and not foul to make it count though.

by Caleb462 on Feb 20, 2009 11:38 PM CST reply actions

his shooting sigh..
I wish we’d actually pas him the ball inside..he’s had so many times when he was completely unguarded under the hoop throughout the whole game..

by JChangNZ on Feb 20, 2009 11:43 PM CST up reply actions

True. I was wondering that too. All Sean Marks should do is stay near the paint and let CP3 get him the ball.

He should only come out of the paint if he’s setting a screen. Thats all.

Devin Brown is a basketball God!

by chandlerfan6 on Feb 20, 2009 11:44 PM CST up reply actions

Again

He was totally free under the hoop…good thing Posey made up for it

by JChangNZ on Feb 20, 2009 11:46 PM CST up reply actions

Van Gundy asked where Hilton is...

And I wonder that too… he was very effective early on.

Still, I guess I can’t complain as long as the Hornets are making a run.

by Caleb462 on Feb 20, 2009 11:42 PM CST reply actions

I love basketball and I have 2 daughters and I always had a dream

to train them to be great basketball players and that someday they would be the first females to play in the real NBA.

Then I found out that there was this girl who beat me to it. Her name is Sasha and she plays for the Lakers

...things go well I might be showing my O face...O...O...O...you know what I'm talking about.

by Matt Daddy on Feb 20, 2009 11:47 PM CST reply actions

Yes!

Butler!

And West has been killin it on the boards even though he’s not having a big shooting night.

Tight game… I love it and I hate it.

by Caleb462 on Feb 20, 2009 11:50 PM CST reply actions

What can I say

That was all CP3…not a bad call

by JChangNZ on Feb 21, 2009 12:03 AM CST reply actions

Rare mistake by CP3

But that’s okay… just play some defense and we got this.

by Caleb462 on Feb 21, 2009 12:04 AM CST reply actions

I cannot believe I was right…I was so hoping I was wrong

by JChangNZ on Feb 21, 2009 12:07 AM CST up reply actions

ARGH!

I did not want this to go to OT.

Aahhh… and of course it was Derek Fisher.

by Caleb462 on Feb 21, 2009 12:07 AM CST reply actions

Wow.

CP3 with the brain freeze.

by Cablinasian on Feb 21, 2009 12:07 AM CST reply actions

Yeah bad offense and bad defense back to back..

You pretty much never see that from CP… so he gets a mulligan.

by Caleb462 on Feb 21, 2009 12:08 AM CST up reply actions

Agreed

CP is my favourite non-Rockets player. That fast break decision was puzzling…why not alley oop?

by Daniel C on Feb 21, 2009 12:08 AM CST reply actions

13 consecutive overtime wins...

Hope they didn’t stat curse us.

Sad thing is if we do lose this…. it shouldnt have ever gone to OT. Argh I’m so nervous.

by Caleb462 on Feb 21, 2009 12:14 AM CST reply actions

Wow, Butler is amazing.

by Fundefined on Feb 21, 2009 12:26 AM CST reply actions

That should be ballgame.

Well, whatever. I’m incredibly dissapointed but it was a hell of a game and the team proved for the second time that the distance between them and the Lakers is not as great as most people think. Butler was ballin, West was crashin the boards… I’m proud of the effort. Some bad luck down the stretch… and a mystifying decision by our man CP3… but even the greatest make the occasional mistake.

by Caleb462 on Feb 21, 2009 12:26 AM CST reply actions

And I also think the way this team has played post all-star break

Is a sign of a good 2nd half.

I’m pissed… but I’m trying to look at the positive.

by Caleb462 on Feb 21, 2009 12:29 AM CST up reply actions

Goodnight everyone

I’m sad but I also have a lot of faith in this team again. Peace.

by Caleb462 on Feb 21, 2009 12:35 AM CST reply actions

I gotta hand it to the hive

I came here after finishing the game on my DVR expecting to read a lot of moaning and complaining about the officiating, with a few “eff Kobe”s for good measure.

To my surprise, I didn’t get any satisfaction in hearing excuses (like on the Spurs, Celtics, Suns boards – not that they’re all bad, but I think you know what I mean).

You guys set the standard for classy fans.

Here’s to hoping that Chandler recovers from his turf toe 100%, and Peja can find his shot.

by Gils_Keloids on Feb 21, 2009 1:13 AM CST reply actions

Yeah.

We need both Chandler and Peja.
