Imagine if they had kept Nash....

New Orleans Hornets: The most inconsistent team in the NBA.

by Grayson on Apr 12, 2009 2:16 AM CDT reply actions

As a Blazer fan, can I ask that you guys hug your Chris Paul posters extra hard, put some extra pins in your Dirk voodoo dolls, or at the very least sacrifice and extra goat to Ba’al to get a win. I really, really don’t want the Blazers to play the Mavs in the playoffs; I get the feeling that they will kill us. I’d much rather have a competitive series that’s fun to watch against the Spurs or your boys.

"I'm loving the fact we have nothing to lose" -Brandon Roy on national expections of the Blazers.

Key to the rest of the season/playoffs

CP3. Simple as that.
What he needs to do is attack (offensively) and attack early. Throughout the whole season, he’s been doing the Steve Nash, passing, creating opportunities, but right now, the rest of the Hornets are just, actually, I don’t know where they are. I reckon CP3 needs to score and score A LOT early. Get the oppossing team on him where he can then begin to create opportunities. Oh yeah, did anyone else hear? Melvin Ely is getting the start over Armstrong and Marks apparently. Would’ve liked to see Marks start (well, I always want to..haha). Anyway, good luck to the Hornets, won’t be able to keep track of them because I’ll be mountain biking!

Yes!

Hubie Brown again! ESPN, I love you.

Can someone tell me what has happned so far.

Missed the start of the game.

New Orleans Hornets: The most inconsistent team in the NBA.

by Grayson on Apr 12, 2009 12:26 PM CDT reply actions

Chris Paul pretty much doing everything

Mavs taking a lot of jump shots, missing a lot of jump shots, but getting a lot of long offensive rebounds.

by Rohan on Apr 12, 2009 12:29 PM CDT up reply actions

Macs cold. We're not.

Both teams playing good D, but we’re executing slightly better. Now we start 2Q with ball.

by m-W on Apr 12, 2009 12:30 PM CDT up reply actions

I would fear this 2nd Q

And looks what happened. I knew this would happen. Typical bench.

New Orleans Hornets: The most inconsistent team in the NBA.

by Grayson on Apr 12, 2009 12:35 PM CDT up reply actions

They aren't really basketball players.

It’s taken me the whole season. But that’s the only posibility.

New Orleans Hornets: The most inconsistent team in the NBA.

by Grayson on Apr 12, 2009 12:36 PM CDT up reply actions

They don't belong in the NBA

We have 1/2 NBA player on the bench. Why don’t we play Julian some? He isn’t good either but at least is a freakish athlete

by kitsunegari on Apr 12, 2009 12:39 PM CDT up reply actions

I really can't understand Byron's logic.

Mo was the starter for this team and he just refuses to play him. We need someone at the game to shout at him.

New Orleans Hornets: The most inconsistent team in the NBA.

by Grayson on Apr 12, 2009 12:43 PM CDT up reply actions

Devin Clown over Mo or anyone

Either Byron thinks he is a genius or he wants to see what it will take to get fired.

by kitsunegari on Apr 12, 2009 12:47 PM CDT up reply actions

The other thing is that

Mo Pete has FOUR TIMES the defensive rebound rate of Daniels. We’re getting pounded on the glass.

by Rohan on Apr 12, 2009 12:49 PM CDT up reply actions

Barea

If he scores we’re really in trouble lol.

by kitsunegari on Apr 12, 2009 12:36 PM CDT reply actions

GRAB A REBOUND YOU DUMB F'S!

New Orleans Hornets: The most inconsistent team in the NBA.

by Grayson on Apr 12, 2009 12:49 PM CDT reply actions

Also to note that.

Dallas is 4/9 from three. We are 2/8.

New Orleans Hornets: The most inconsistent team in the NBA.

by Grayson on Apr 12, 2009 12:50 PM CDT reply actions

To be fair

Pargo sucked, and without JR, we don’t get TC.

by Rohan on Apr 12, 2009 12:54 PM CDT up reply actions

I would take him over AD

Any day. And having the potential 6th man of the year over a chronically injured center who can’t do anything other than alley oop on offense; granted J R was kind of a headcase when he was here.

by kitsunegari on Apr 12, 2009 12:57 PM CDT up reply actions

Pargo is a BEAST!

Devin Brown is a basketball God!

by chandlerfan6 on Apr 12, 2009 12:59 PM CDT up reply actions

Lol i wouldn't go that far

But he at least had some upside. Maybe we can get his bro who is much better.

by kitsunegari on Apr 12, 2009 1:00 PM CDT up reply actions

Ok then we would be in the same place we are now without TC.

Except instead of Mo on the bench J.R. would be on the bench. Agreed with @th, chronically injured; um no. How bout last year when he played 79 games?

Devin Brown is a basketball God!

by chandlerfan6 on Apr 12, 2009 1:03 PM CDT up reply actions

Thought we were talking about Jannero?

In any case we could have also drafted better or not broke the bank for Poz. The Bobby Jackson/ Mike James trade sucked pretty bad as well.

by kitsunegari on Apr 12, 2009 1:19 PM CDT up reply actions

Calling Chandler chronically injured is unbelievably stupid

Go look up the numbers first on games played before you say stuff like that.

by Rohan on Apr 12, 2009 1:00 PM CDT up reply actions

He has missed what 35 games?

Maybe not his entire career (although i think he had some similar years with the Bulls) but his problems are probably only going to get worse. And his salary is insane.

by kitsunegari on Apr 12, 2009 1:11 PM CDT up reply actions

Listen

JR was a punk ass and no one wanted him. So he’s good now. Good for him. Bass refused to board and bang and wanted to just shoot. He fits Dallas’ system, but would still sucks in ours. Pargo was a salary cap no-brainer; with James on for $6 mil we HAD to let Pargo go. As for Bird? Trust issues from his drug thing, which is a shame, because he’s perfect for our system.

by m-W on Apr 12, 2009 1:19 PM CDT up reply actions

His limited offense

is made up for by his huge contributions on defense and rebounding. Besides, the alley oop is one of the most effective plays in the Hornets arsenal…

by Caleb462 on Apr 12, 2009 1:46 PM CDT up reply actions

I like how CP called the rebounding pathetic.

It’s ultimately going to lose this game if they don’t change it.

by RonD on Apr 12, 2009 1:02 PM CDT reply actions

I think Jon Barry hit the nail on the head.

This team is not deep enough to make a run at anything. We are shooting 51% and they are shooting 38%. Offensive rebounds are killing us. This game is going to be a lose.

New Orleans Hornets: The most inconsistent team in the NBA.

by Grayson on Apr 12, 2009 1:08 PM CDT reply actions

Why so sure?

We still have Chris Paul you know.

by Rohan on Apr 12, 2009 1:11 PM CDT up reply actions

Oh yeah but CP can only do so much.

The team has to realise that CP can’t single handedly win every game for us. I want to see CP sitting a large chunk of the 4th Q out. It wont happen but its a nice thought.

New Orleans Hornets: The most inconsistent team in the NBA.

by Grayson on Apr 12, 2009 1:13 PM CDT up reply actions

What I mean is

I still don’t think this is an automatic loss just because we can’t rebound.

by Rohan on Apr 12, 2009 1:15 PM CDT up reply actions

Agree

Dallas isn’t that good, remember the first time we played in NO they were wining at the half.

by kitsunegari on Apr 12, 2009 1:18 PM CDT up reply actions

8-0 Dallas run

To start out the first 4:30 of the 2nd half this is getting sad.

by kitsunegari on Apr 12, 2009 1:28 PM CDT reply actions

Dirk and Damp- 21 rebounds.

New Orleans Hornets- 23 rebounds.

Devin Brown is a basketball God!

by chandlerfan6 on Apr 12, 2009 1:35 PM CDT reply actions

POSEEYYYYYY!

YOU JERK!!!! Stop that shit!

by RonD on Apr 12, 2009 1:39 PM CDT reply actions

One per game.

Devin Brown is a basketball God!

by chandlerfan6 on Apr 12, 2009 1:40 PM CDT reply actions

Good thing Posey's back!

We were really slacking when it came to picking up technicals!

by Caleb462 on Apr 12, 2009 1:40 PM CDT reply actions

Haha always

Dirk is one of the elite floppers of the league

by Rohan on Apr 12, 2009 1:41 PM CDT up reply actions

I remember he had a great one

in the playoffs against TC if i remember.

by kitsunegari on Apr 12, 2009 1:42 PM CDT up reply actions

That was hilarious

Acted like he got shot a few times in the head

by Rohan on Apr 12, 2009 1:44 PM CDT up reply actions

No one can compete with Manu's flopping ability however.

Not even The Great Steve Nash.

Devin Brown is a basketball God!

by chandlerfan6 on Apr 12, 2009 1:48 PM CDT up reply actions

Overall

Really nice recovery in that 3rd. Now if only Dirk can cool down a bit.

by Rohan on Apr 12, 2009 1:46 PM CDT reply actions

I doubt he does

so they need to counter with 3s from Peja and Butler. If only that 3 had gone down.

by RonD on Apr 12, 2009 1:47 PM CDT up reply actions

Byron is weird

now he puts peterson in after not playing the whole game

by RonD on Apr 12, 2009 1:49 PM CDT reply actions

Then airballs

He has to still be hurting.

by RonD on Apr 12, 2009 1:55 PM CDT up reply actions

then misses badly on a 3.

and then people wonder why they play a 2 man game most of the time.

by RonD on Apr 12, 2009 1:57 PM CDT up reply actions

Barea

Hope to 5’11" white guys who can’t shoot everywhere lol

by kitsunegari on Apr 12, 2009 1:57 PM CDT reply actions

OMG Posey hit a 3

Can’t even remember the last time that happened.

by kitsunegari on Apr 12, 2009 2:06 PM CDT reply actions

Nice

not even trying to stop Terry

by kitsunegari on Apr 12, 2009 2:15 PM CDT reply actions

Yep

One of the top D-rebounding at the G/F in the whole league

by Rohan on Apr 12, 2009 2:21 PM CDT up reply actions

Should've let CP get the board

For the triple double I’ll settle for the win and some $ on NOH and the over though.

by kitsunegari on Apr 12, 2009 2:22 PM CDT reply actions

thats why they just walked off

Usually I don’t like when players score when a game is over but against Dallas I could care less.

by RonD on Apr 12, 2009 2:24 PM CDT up reply actions

I hope Dallas gets the lakers

so bad. I want to see them swept by the Lakers

by RonD on Apr 12, 2009 2:27 PM CDT reply actions

NO NO NO! That's where I have to disagree.

Utah must draw the Lakers first round and get eliminated. I DO NOT want to play Utah at all for obvious reasons. If Utahs out first round then we can challenge anyone.

Devin Brown is a basketball God!

by chandlerfan6 on Apr 12, 2009 2:30 PM CDT up reply actions

IF the Hornets stay 6th and get out of the first round

which I’m not sold on yet without a productive Tyson and Peja, they will be facing the Lakers in the semi anyway so Utah should not scare you. And I don’t think Utah will get out of the first round being 7th anyway. Denver match up with them well and are more athletic.

by RonD on Apr 12, 2009 3:02 PM CDT up reply actions

I'll tell you what I like

Hilton did not play

New Orleans Hornets: The most inconsistent team in the NBA.

by Grayson on Apr 12, 2009 2:33 PM CDT reply actions

Assuming we get the 6

Is Portland the likely opponent now? I think i would rather them than HOU or DEN but not by much.

by kitsunegari on Apr 12, 2009 2:50 PM CDT reply actions

No it will be Houston most likely.

Isn’t the rule whoever wins the divisions get the top 4 spots? Since Denver won or will win it Portland can’t get in top 4. Correct me

by RonD on Apr 12, 2009 3:09 PM CDT up reply actions

Ah yeah

Forgot about that. Might not be that bad given their playoff track record and also i they are a more slow paced team.
