Devin Brown is a basketball God!

I hope

they don’t cut off the beginning of the game for this blowout in The ATL.

by Rohan on Apr 19, 2009 9:27 PM CDT reply actions

Nice!

I got a strong feeling we taking Game 1 or 2.

by Rohan on Apr 19, 2009 9:38 PM CDT up reply actions

By the by...

Nice job on the Round Table and the Stats 105 posts. Sorry I’ve been MIA on the comments lately.

by hldomingue on Apr 19, 2009 9:39 PM CDT up reply actions

Do we really need...

to watch ATL’s streamers and 12 more commericals?

by janepriceestrada on Apr 19, 2009 9:41 PM CDT reply actions

Sort of related question

Is TNT going all static-y for anyone else? For me, it’s the only channel that is going super static all day.

by Rohan on Apr 19, 2009 9:41 PM CDT up reply actions

I’m on holiday..hopefully this should make up for the 4 exams I have first week back to school next week!

by JChangNZ on Apr 19, 2009 9:43 PM CDT up reply actions

Nice nice

You getting a live feed?

by Rohan on Apr 19, 2009 9:43 PM CDT up reply actions

Struggling to find one

by JChangNZ on Apr 19, 2009 9:44 PM CDT up reply actions

My friend found a korean stream..haha.no idea what they’re talking about

by JChangNZ on Apr 19, 2009 9:44 PM CDT up reply actions

The pace

Is way too fast thus far. We gotta bog Denver down into the half court.

by Rohan on Apr 19, 2009 9:56 PM CDT reply actions

Billups can't miss

But none of his shots are good shot selection at all.

by Rohan on Apr 19, 2009 9:59 PM CDT reply actions

Box Score

Says he’s available. The odd man out the rotation appears to be Ely.

by Rohan on Apr 19, 2009 10:04 PM CDT up reply actions

West

Probably gonna play 40 minutes of the game…

by JChangNZ on Apr 19, 2009 10:06 PM CDT up reply actions

Surprised to see Hilton in first and not Marks.

Normally I’d say that is a bad thing. But Hilton has played Denver well, so maybe not.

by m-W on Apr 19, 2009 10:04 PM CDT reply actions

Hilton! bricking free throws!

Me 1, Everyone else in the roundtable 0

Well

I still think you’re gonna be right in predicting the powers of Poz’s giant elbow brace.

by Rohan on Apr 19, 2009 10:08 PM CDT up reply actions

All I'm saying

Is didn’t he have an oddly effective week? With the exception of those free throws, that is.

http://hornetshype.com

by ticktock6 on Apr 19, 2009 10:10 PM CDT up reply actions

Yeah, no

I agree. I think he’s back.

by Rohan on Apr 19, 2009 10:10 PM CDT up reply actions

Good quarter...

Considering Hilt’s bricked FTs and Chauncy’s unbelievable-ness.

by hldomingue on Apr 19, 2009 10:12 PM CDT reply actions

sigh..another playoff series in his 10 year NBA career where he doesn’t play. Guess there’s a reason..

by JChangNZ on Apr 19, 2009 10:17 PM CDT up reply actions

The way Hilton's been playing, it's a little more than odd

I'm proud of my damn strong football team. Have a great day!

by Mikethetiger on Apr 19, 2009 10:17 PM CDT up reply actions

I'm also surprised

at Ely not being included, given how many minutes he been getting lately.

by Rohan on Apr 19, 2009 10:17 PM CDT up reply actions

Wow

Chandler comes in; amazing rebounds. We’ve missed you, bud!

I'm proud of my damn strong football team. Have a great day!

by Mikethetiger on Apr 19, 2009 10:19 PM CDT reply actions

Scott needs to make sure he doesn’t leave the bench on court for too long.

by JChangNZ on Apr 19, 2009 10:21 PM CDT up reply actions

The birdman is owning

every Hornets backup

I'm proud of my damn strong football team. Have a great day!

by Mikethetiger on Apr 19, 2009 10:21 PM CDT reply actions

Put Marks in!

I still remember that massive block Marks did on him during the season

by JChangNZ on Apr 19, 2009 10:22 PM CDT up reply actions

I hate it when teams get awarded when they just chuck an airball

Especially when they also get fouled as well with the bucket counting

by JChangNZ on Apr 19, 2009 10:27 PM CDT reply actions

This is getting out of hand

Birdman is staring us down… and he’s totally earned it.

by hldomingue on Apr 19, 2009 10:28 PM CDT reply actions

That could've gotten out of hand right there

But Paul hits the 3, sets up the Butler 3, sets up the Peja 3.

by Rohan on Apr 19, 2009 10:29 PM CDT reply actions

I’m happy we’re finally hitting shots when it really matters

by JChangNZ on Apr 19, 2009 10:30 PM CDT up reply actions

Yeah, skimming Pickaxe & Roll

They’re really frustrated by their lack of perimeter defense.

by m-W on Apr 19, 2009 10:30 PM CDT up reply actions

It's funny

The comment count is going pretty much at the exact same pace here and there.

Let’s beat them!!!

by Rohan on Apr 19, 2009 10:31 PM CDT up reply actions

I love...

Byron Scott’s disappointed father look.

by janepriceestrada on Apr 19, 2009 10:32 PM CDT reply actions

Ticky-tacky

This game is too physical to call that kind of nonsense.

by hldomingue on Apr 19, 2009 10:34 PM CDT reply actions

Yeah

They are calling this too tight for my tastes..

by Caleb462 on Apr 19, 2009 10:37 PM CDT up reply actions

Thuggery!

I knew it wouldn’t be long

by RonD on Apr 19, 2009 10:36 PM CDT reply actions

What happened? Wasn’t CP clearly fouled?

by JChangNZ on Apr 19, 2009 10:37 PM CDT up reply actions

No it wasn't but Martin looks to do things like that

Every game this year he’s fouled CP hard purposely looking for something to happen. But that’s his game i guess

by RonD on Apr 19, 2009 10:38 PM CDT up reply actions

Nope.

Devin Brown is a basketball God!

by chandlerfan6 on Apr 19, 2009 10:37 PM CDT up reply actions

Nah

Is there an option for “obnoxious foul” though?

by Caleb462 on Apr 19, 2009 10:38 PM CDT up reply actions

Lol

I might be the only non-Nugget fan in the whole world who’s always like Kenyon. I dunno why… I just can’t dislike him.

by Rohan on Apr 19, 2009 10:38 PM CDT up reply actions

LOL.

But seriously, Kenyon has fouled both CP and DX really hard. Kinda b.s.

by m-W on Apr 19, 2009 10:38 PM CDT up reply actions

And he's looking to start something.

And that’s why I don’t like him. Just play the game.

by RonD on Apr 19, 2009 10:39 PM CDT up reply actions

Word.

I believe the term is douchethuggery.

by hldomingue on Apr 19, 2009 10:41 PM CDT up reply actions

Douchethuggery

I love it

by ticktock6 on Apr 19, 2009 10:42 PM CDT up reply actions

What did Marks actually do?

by JChangNZ on Apr 19, 2009 10:44 PM CDT up reply actions

yelling = technical?
It makes me wonder really just how much leniancy is given to star players sometimes..

by JChangNZ on Apr 19, 2009 10:46 PM CDT up reply actions

These guys are just trying to keep the game in control.

Actually, it’s a great result. Because if Martin flips out again, he’s gone.

by m-W on Apr 19, 2009 10:46 PM CDT up reply actions

Way too many fouls

We’re just giving away points.

by Rohan on Apr 19, 2009 10:41 PM CDT reply actions

What foul was that?

Hilton just stood there and Melo ran into him…

by m-W on Apr 19, 2009 10:47 PM CDT reply actions

That was a BS Call

But armstrong has to do better

by RonD on Apr 19, 2009 10:47 PM CDT reply actions

Yes, but...

Some consistency with the refs would be nice. They’ve attempted 16 FTs to our 8.

by hldomingue on Apr 19, 2009 10:48 PM CDT up reply actions

There have been a lot of sketchy calls here.

Not saying it’s influencing the game per se, but that other foul on Marks earlier, the replay showed no contact.

by m-W on Apr 19, 2009 10:48 PM CDT reply actions

Again..he’s been getting those calls all season. Just another player on the court. Another star player wouldn’t be getting those calls.

by JChangNZ on Apr 19, 2009 10:51 PM CDT up reply actions

I really wish the NBA would take a good look at the officiating

And try to fix it. Everyone knows there are problems… from the hardcore to the casual fan, the players, the coaches – whether its home cookin or star calls or flops. But Stern will never admit that there’s anything seriously wrong… even though doing so would probably garner a lot of good will.

by Caleb462 on Apr 19, 2009 10:54 PM CDT up reply actions

Take away a lucky 1st from Chaucey

And we’re in this. 3rd qrtr will be huge though.

by Rohan on Apr 19, 2009 10:49 PM CDT reply actions

Yeah, but...

Denver probably won’t keep coughing it up at the rate they have been.

by hldomingue on Apr 19, 2009 10:50 PM CDT up reply actions

Yeah, fouls really hurting

Half of them questionable…

Still in the game though… need to have a strong 3rd

by Caleb462 on Apr 19, 2009 10:49 PM CDT reply actions

Is anyone watching the TNT halftime show?

(RANT ALERT).

Kenny Smith just said that the Hornets won’t win this series because CP will not have enough energy to stay competitive for a whole series because… wait for it… he’s on 6 feet tall and weighs 185 pounds.

(let that sink in)

I think the point he was trying to make is that Billups will overpower him and thus get the better of him over the series (since he’s bigger), but the logic he’s presented us with instead insinuates that the Magic will be facing the Rockets in the Finals… we’ll just have to wait and see who wins the “energetic” battle between Yao and Howard.

Oof.

by hldomingue on Apr 19, 2009 10:58 PM CDT reply actions

Oh wait,

I just remembered that Houston has Mutumbo coming off the bench. Rockets win. Done and done.

by hldomingue on Apr 19, 2009 10:59 PM CDT up reply actions

I know

I just made fun of it on Twitter. And then spontaneously died from stupidity.

http://hornetshype.com

by ticktock6 on Apr 19, 2009 11:00 PM CDT up reply actions

No I can't watch that stuff...

I can’t stand Kenny Smith… or Reggie Miller, or most of these guys outside of Hubie Brown.

by Caleb462 on Apr 19, 2009 11:04 PM CDT up reply actions

Agreed

It feels so weird listening to Reggie, etc. after getting Hubie so many times.

by Rohan on Apr 19, 2009 11:04 PM CDT up reply actions

I like Marv...

But maybe he just sounds good because he’s talking with Reggie. It’s like the Joe Buck/Troy Aikman thing.

by hldomingue on Apr 19, 2009 11:05 PM CDT up reply actions

We can't guard a three shooter

to save our lives. With Billups hot, this is looking very ugly

I'm proud of my damn strong football team. Have a great day!

WTF IS THIS!?!?!

Devin Brown is a basketball God!

by chandlerfan6 on Apr 19, 2009 11:16 PM CDT reply actions

ARE YOU KIDDING?

Butler is jumping out of Chauncy’s way…

by hldomingue on Apr 19, 2009 11:17 PM CDT reply actions

Cp can't start shooting 3s

that’s not the game they can win

by RonD on Apr 19, 2009 11:19 PM CDT reply actions

He's a disgrace. I literally hate Devin Brown. No joke. All he does is take minutes away from our better players.

When he’s in he just screws up so why play him you ask? No one in the world knows except for Byron. We would be in this game if Chauncey didn’t go off.

Devin Brown is a basketball God!

by chandlerfan6 on Apr 19, 2009 11:37 PM CDT up reply actions

It's not Devin Browns fault...

Its Byrons.

I really have nothing against Brown. Dude is asked to play so he’s going to play… playbadly yes, but hey – he is who he is.

by Caleb462 on Apr 19, 2009 11:39 PM CDT up reply actions

Brown back in

Turnover, horrible pass, burned for a 3 by Billups.

Nice call Byron.

by Rohan on Apr 19, 2009 11:36 PM CDT reply actions

I have never understood it

All year. And it’s burning us in a big game in the playoffs. Big time.

http://hornetshype.com

by ticktock6 on Apr 19, 2009 11:38 PM CDT up reply actions

I wish it was a dream...

And I ‘d wake up and realize that, hey… that’s not Devin Brown, it’s Morris Peterson… the guy who shoots 35-40% from three, plays good defense and STARTED in last year’s playoffs.

by Caleb462 on Apr 19, 2009 11:38 PM CDT up reply actions

Yeah.

Dwest has to score for them to have a chance and he’s been owned tonight.

by RonD on Apr 19, 2009 11:38 PM CDT up reply actions

Missed another layup..hes missed so many open jumpers today too. We would be a lot closer

by JChangNZ on Apr 19, 2009 11:39 PM CDT up reply actions

David West has nothing tonight

He just literally gave them 5 points. Unless something happens quick, Scott should start looking to rest Paul the other starters and not waste energy.

I'm proud of my damn strong football team. Have a great day!

by Mikethetiger on Apr 19, 2009 11:38 PM CDT reply actions

Rest the starters

That’s game. Hopefully come up with a better plan for Game 2.

by Rohan on Apr 19, 2009 11:39 PM CDT reply actions

We have to get game 2

Truthfully… I haflway expected a loss tonight, but if they go down 0-2 it will be awfully hard to climb back. We aren’t the Spurs.

by Caleb462 on Apr 19, 2009 11:42 PM CDT up reply actions

Yeah, Paul should see the bench right now.

I don’t think they need a better game plan. I think they need a plan. No defense whatsoever.

And oh yeah, Devin Brown should be nowhere near the basketball court. Ever.

I'm proud of my damn strong football team. Have a great day!

hey, at least the Hornets laid an egg in a road game

and didn’t throw away home court advantage like the Blazers did.

that Portland didn’t.

Doesn't matter

So much other stuff is wrong with the Hornets. Tyson is clearly hurt, the bench is abysmal, the coaching is awful.

Chauncey regressing won’t affect much.

Well..

Hopefully one thing the Hornets learned from the series with the Spurs is that getting an early lead in a series means nothing. You have to win 4 or lose 4.

That said, its definitely important for the Hornets to grab game 2. I’m not saying its impossible for them to win the series if they don’t, but it would be much more unlikely.

by Caleb462 on Apr 20, 2009 12:04 AM CDT up reply actions
