Hopefully. We need TC out there crashing them boards!
If he can get a good pick n roll going with CP3 and catch a few oops, then he’ll free up D-West on the block. We all know we need D-West out there scoring the ball if we wanna win this game.

Is it bad
that I dream at night of Brandon Roy and Chris Paul being on the same team?
draft dejuan blair
and I dream of Tyson punching Chris Andersen in the face.
But I know that isn’t wrong.

Optimistic
With so many series in the playoffs right now with teams tied 1-1, it gives me a lot of optimism that the Hornets can pull off tonight’s game and win the series!
Let’s go Hornets!! Woohoo!
Haha
It’s great to see every team fighting it out to the end. That’s passion, something we lack here in NZ for basketball
I was at the Portland-Houston game last night, pretty close to the court (25 feet from Morey)
and the atmosphere was breathtaking. Simply breathtaking.
draft dejuan blair
yeah
The roar that went out when Roy hit the three to go up by six with a minute and a half left was incredible… You have to experience a playoff game in person.
draft dejuan blair
It is a whole nother experience!
I thinks Stern had NZ on tap for a Franchise (The NZ Merinos) before the recession ![]()

Haha, make fun of our sheep!
Tells you something about the world’s image on us. We are a sheep dominated country. 4 million people, 50 million sheep.
Nope
I think he grew up playing a bit of rugby, then quit and started playing basketball. Then some scouting people saw him and he played college ball in the US and then got drafted..

incredible story
I know a business owner in Portland who was given the tickets by a client. He absolutely hates basketball, and I happened to be at the same place as him… bada bing, free ticket.

as for the scalpers
I know a person who had two $19 300-level tickets… sold them for $100.

I hope they do what the heat did tonight.
They competed the whole game on both ends and came out with a win. I can only hope the Hornets will do the same tonight.
Yeah I'll be mad
If the Hornets join the Jazz & Pistons as the only team to not rebound from a crushing Game 1.
I'm proud of my damn strong football team. Have a great day!

Ooo
I see Sean Marks practising his jumpers…thank you to whoever’s out there that has got this TNTHD stream going!
I think its whatever the media is making of this CP vs Jones
Awesome to see West feeling it
Should be a closer game tonight
Hey guys
Im a Colts fan who needs something to keep busy with while waiting for the NFL Draft on saturday. Im not a Hornets fan, nor a big basketball fan, but I do enjoy the NBA Playoffs. Mind if I hang here for this game?
Sure
New Orleans is Peyton’s hometown; his fans are welcome here.

That right there is what I fear
that was a ticky tack foul but he can’t have his hands out with CB. He comes through and shoots and gets and1s
West is off to a great start

of how video games glitch and players fly through the air randomly. Posey just moved across the air.

Yeah CP has been bumped in the paint and nothing
I hate the disparity

Aww
Marks..continues his bad 3-point shooting streak =D
I cant believe Devin left Chauncey open on the perimeter...
Dude actually does something good by grabbing the board and hitting a three, and then he leaves the guy who just dropped 8 three pointers on us OPEN!
ARGH.
I think he actually backpedalled to a long 2
that’s a high BBIQ play.

by Cablinasian on Apr 22, 2009 10:20 PM CDT up reply actions
Another thing is
our play is actually at its worst when we have some starts in and some backups (ie when the bench is gradually being removed). That period is far worse than the actual bench play.
It’s almost as if our guys start relaxing just because they have 2 or 3 starters back in.
You know
Prior to the Nuggets acquiring CB, they reminded of the Colts teams before we won a Superbowl, powerful offense, no defense.
Would you say the Super Bowl winning Colts had a good D
Or they just got a real hot streak in the playoffs? It always impressed me how that team turned it on those playoffs, and I guess I chalked it up to coaching.
It was a combination of both
The biggest difference to the atrocious run D of the Colts in the regular season and the fabulous run D in the playoffs was due to a change at Strong Side LB (putting in Rob Morris over Gilbert Gardner), the return of Bob Sanders, Booger McFarland getting acclimated to the system, and a slight tweak in the defensive scheme.

Still would like to push the lead up so when CP comes back he can extend it more
I love the defense but you gotta score something
I have a brillian idea....
Let’s continue to play great D and then start scoring on offense. It works well most of the time, I’ve heard.

Billups is getting crazy love from the refs
Paul got called for a far lesser carry last night. That was pretty obvious
not good
these kind of things lead to a period where the Nuggets could have a substantial lead.
Hornets need to get their shit together.
Birdman
Can someone tell me why we didn’t bother keeping this guy at the end of last year? I mean, he could be playing for us, not against us.
yeah
who needs big men…

Crash the boards
Does Byron cover that in practice?
Everybody will have to go to the boards.
Tyson will have less and less lift as the game goes on. And they need to grab it with two freakin hands. Whats with this one handed stuff.
More jumpshots
This is why they don’t get to the foul line
I swear. CP3 didn’t even touch Billups on a call earlier in the game.
by crazedmailman on Apr 22, 2009 10:46 PM CDT up reply actions
Ju-Ju
Can I at least get him for defense? I don’t care if he doesn’t take a shot, he will still guard better than Peja.
I think offense is the problem right now
The offense has slipped so much from last year to this year, and from pre all-star break to post all-star break.
Well
It’s not like Peja is lighting it up tonight anyway.

but don't forget

we cannot be losing by double digits at half time
we just cannot.
And CP3 is not rolling yet… where is he?
It is good however
to see Posey and Butler playing better tonight.
I dont feel good about it
Ive spent so much optimism on this Hornets team through the course of the season that I’m pretty much out.
Let’s hope I’m wrong.
The good part is we're down 8 and CP had a horrible first half
Sunday, we were down 8 but CP had a pretty good one.
They need to steal this game
CP will have to score
and blabbering

we’ve got to rotate better

by crazedmailman on Apr 22, 2009 11:23 PM CDT up reply actions
Our season is dying a slow and painful death at the hands of Denver
But Peja “the guy who in fact, does NOT choke in the playoffs” is trying to keep us in it.
Ugh, what a shame to waste all those threes
Can’t put it together on both ends. Good offense, bad defense or vice versa… or bad both.
It was such a false hope.
They all look flatfooted on defense. I just don’t get it
the pick and roll
it isn’t working and they are seeing the lob passes coming from a mile away. Byron has got to do something else.
WOW!!!!
Who are these guys. No one looks good
Billups is getting every call.
Is CP hurt? The knee?
Hang it up
Might as well wait until Saturday
Well
Scott’s got to give him more than a post-up on Martin.

It's really too late in the season to do something new.
Old habits die hard. This should’ve changed a long time ago.
I feel like
Byron’s creating a TON of open looks for him tonight. Jumpers, layups. He’s bricked everything.
Perhaps
I had just watched him try to back down Martin, so that was just burned in my mind.
by crazedmailman on Apr 22, 2009 11:36 PM CDT up reply actions
I'm sorry, but it really is
you can see it in the way they are playing
by crazedmailman on Apr 22, 2009 11:31 PM CDT up reply actions
Forget it
THey don’t look like they even believe its possible.
They are not even stopping the ball. THey aren’t playing together.
I dont know what happened to this team...
Its like the injuries just completely destroyed the chemistry and their ability to play smart, effective basketball. Tyson is obviously very limited, but its not just that…. everything is just off right now and has been for a while.
I want to punch Dahntey Jones square in his Posey-esque, sarcastic-ass smirk.
Devin Brown is a basketball God!
You can thank Byron Scott for that smirk.

I would punch him right in his mouth if he did that while I was playing.
Credit to the guys for not completely losing their cool.

Hornets aren't moving much off the ball offensively
And not moving to box out defensively. They’re not really moving to guard in transition. Their sets are so static they might as well be playing wheelchair basketball. Are the Hornets usually this sluggish?

I wish it would just be over at 2-0
I’m tired of watching them lose but I can’t freaking stop watching. I’m ready for the season to end though. I know, I know… everything is supposed to change when the scenery changes, but this Hornets team has failed just about every big “challenge game” they’ve faced this season outside of 2 or 3.
Get it down to 10 by the fourth and just maybe.....
Oh wait Hilton’s in. Mission impossible.

No foul on Hilton?!?
Devin Brown is a basketball God!
No he only fouls people.
He doesn’t get fouled :/
The Hornets have definitely been jacked on the calls
Is is the reason we are losing? No. Its still really horrible though.
And surprisingly they have 2 more free throws made than Denver
Its just the defense that’s killing them
Someone feed Hilton actual food
maybe then he can finish strong
He's a little girl. Nothing will ever change. He will continue to shit himself when he's in the game.

Like I said
Im all out of optimism.
But yeah I still have hope… I’m just trying to make a loss easier to take by predicting it ahead of time, lol.
if you've played basketball,
its frustrating when you get called for fouls for the same play where they get a no call. maybe that is frustrating them. its up to scott to push them mentally to win this game.
I have no clue. Maybe if the officiating was more fair throughout...
Maybe just maybe this would be a different game if we were in NOLA.

Can’t get a hand in CARMELO ANTHONY’s face?
JR Smith said they only needed 4 games to beat this team
I know its only game 2 but I don’t know.
Well let me clarify
on HR a poster said he chatted on twitter with him and he asked him that question and that was his response. Not in the media or anything.
I don't understand what the problem is he didn't look for his shot at all.
I know he wants to get others involved and I know they have really bottled him up but he only took 9 shots
Well folks...
I won’t see you guys Saturday, cause I will be there. I pray it goes better than this. I’m outta here.
Yeah that's game
And probably season.
Sorry but I’ve been an optimistic guy all season, constantly telling other fans that its just a bump in the road, that its just an injury, and just wait till next week… it aint over till its freaking over. Right now, it feels over to me. Not gonna stop me from watching, but yeah… this sucks.
Scott?
I’m not really a big Byron Scott Fan but the problem in this game was mostly execution….. horrible turnovers, missed shots and lackluster defensive effort. Its on the players.
i mean
this is all his motivational speech can muster?! we should invite your president obama to speak to our hornets.
This is on everyone
Peja did his part offensively but the two all stars did not deliver. I’m surprised. disappointed
Well
Last year the we blew out the Spurs in pretty similiar fashion – if i remember right, they were both caused by big 3rd quarter runs in which the Hornets had a lot of transition opportunities.
Unfortunately, I don’t think this Hornets team can pull a Spurs and win 4 of the next 5.
Tyson doesn't look great out there
Put Marks in!
To be fair
New Orleans really doesn’t have much of a team left out there. Denver is way deeper than them.
Does Lord Byron get through to his players? They’ve seemed pretty listless out there. Not really much creativity on offense or execution on defense.
Bork bork bork!
by Avinash Kunnath on Apr 22, 2009 11:59 PM CDT reply actions
Chandler is not himself
He isn’t even bothering to defend when a free person gets the ball and drives
Put Sean Marks On!
Give him the ball at the 3 point line. No one will guard him and he should just take the damn three. I have seen him do that to teams way too many times in my life in the past
X factor for last years wins and this years losses?
JUJU! haha. last year he was pivotal. that was why we lost game 7. lolz. look at juju now, not playing, thats why were losing.
