Good Luck to the Hornets for Game 3
I won’t be able to chat and watch with you guys. I’ll be too busy sleeping on a Sunday morning – why a 5am start (my time). They’re normally in the afternoons the games. The NBA, where not caring about the Asia-Pacific Nations happens. I trust the Hornets will do us proud in Game 3.
GEAUX HORNETS!!

Yep mine is a 3am get up time here in Australia
Add in the fact that none of the Hornets games have been shown here.
FYI for everyone this is the first chance I’ll get to have a look at the hornets these playoffs. Last role of the dice before the off-season begins.

Hope they can win this...
I know they can.
It will be extra nice if they do because there’s a good chance I’ll be at Monday’s game – which will be a first for me as far as seeing the Hornets in person. It’ll be awesome either way, but seeing them down 2-1 would be a lot better than seeing them down 3-0.

it's not looking good
also, as a casual hornets fan who is watching and rooting for the team in lieu of the wolves, it’s impossible not to notice the crowd. are there really that many empty seats or is it just a bad stream?

Definitely too many empty seats for a freaking playoff game...
Which makes this even more disgusting.

thanks
but the hornets are playing badly!! what is wrong? i cant understand this
by nikkoewan on Apr 25, 2009 12:23 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
This is nonsense
Does Denver have more talent and depth? Sure…. but the discrepency between these two teams is NOT this large. We saw that during the regular season.
Paul is being somewhat aggressive but wheres the energy from this team? Have they given up?
I can’t believe this is how the team plays with the season on the line. Just awful and embarassing. They will have to do something quick or this game will be over before halftime. I’m disgusted.

great energy to get within 5
but still, i have never remembered a time when new orleans led this in this series. even by 1!!

Man...
Peja shot great for two games but now he’s 0-6… damn. They need his shot.

i was thinking the same thing
as a side note, i think theres only three of us here haha
by nikkoewan on Apr 25, 2009 12:57 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
CP is leaving it all on the floor
It will take a performance for the ages for him to win this one for us unless DEN cools off some more or someone else steps up (or DW just stops turning it over)

6am here
Great game thus far. We just need a good run, anything more than a 6-0 should see NO take control in this half, Paul looks like he’s up to it.

West...
D West has not been D West this series. He just turned down a wide open midrange shot… HIS shot, to pump fake the air and then take a contested shot. Damn..
by Caleb462 on Apr 25, 2009 1:01 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Agree
He has been awful so far, KMart’s huge advantage in athleticism has neutralized him totally.
by kitsunegari on Apr 25, 2009 1:02 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
i agree. why would he turn down his shot?!
i have to say, i think dwest is gulp choking. i thought he was up to the challenge after last years unbelievable series against SA, playing against the best PF, a great defender in TD. is it possible that Dwest is hurting or fatigued but we just dont know?
by nikkoewan on Apr 25, 2009 1:06 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Duncan
Isn’t exactly an athletic freak at this stage in his career, neither are the other Spurs bigs. Hence DW usually lights up SAS.
by kitsunegari on Apr 25, 2009 1:11 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Good charge
If he’s not gonna challenge the drives by the nugs with 2 fouls at least Tyson’s gonna take the charge, good run of play

Good 2nd quarter
Hopefully we don’t run out of gas.
by kitsunegari on Apr 25, 2009 1:12 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Let's get a good solid second half in here
And take this one.
by atthehive on Apr 25, 2009 1:12 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Good Half
Easily the best first half thus far this series, the come back from being down is a good sign. Bench is looking solid at the least. Hopefully we can see them press on.
by Ryangle Offence on Apr 25, 2009 1:14 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
3rd quarter is going to be important
it can make or break us. if we go out of the half sluggish, then were dead. if we can play them to a dead even, then we can use the 4th quarter to win. if we light the 3rd quarter up, see you game 4 and 5.
by nikkoewan on Apr 25, 2009 1:14 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Start of 3rd quarter
Hasn’t been good for us lately. Need to come out with more energy.
by kitsunegari on Apr 25, 2009 1:16 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Nice
leading at half, nice to see… agree with you guys that how they play in the 3rd is gonna be crucial.
by Caleb462 on Apr 25, 2009 1:15 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
so, since its halftime, what do you think of the Shaq rumors?
good fit? bad fit? comments? im gonna tackle that problem after the playoffs are over( like what atthehive suggested)
by nikkoewan on Apr 25, 2009 1:20 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
I fear for the health of my TV if that happens
by kitsunegari on Apr 25, 2009 1:21 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
We need to get more athleticism
Not another over the hill type. Rudy Gay would be my ideal choice but Memphis wouldn’t move him for Amare and we have no one close to Amare.
by kitsunegari on Apr 25, 2009 1:33 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
I don't think there's any feasible way for the Shaq thing to happen anyway...
Financially speaking.
That said, Shaq would certainly help the Hornets in the post… no question about that. If he can keep up the level of production he produced this year… he’d be a good fit, sure. That said I’m with kitsunegari: we need to get younger and more athletic not the opposite – Shaq would be a short-term temporary boost and not something that would strengthen the team in the long term.

why is billups allowed to hold, and posey cant?!

Because Posey "pushed down" after the hold...
Or so says Jon Barry.

KEEP JR SMITH IN THE GAME
totally agree. artest always kills you on the defense, its offensively that he wins it.

Posey
WTF is he doing trying to post up?
by kitsunegari on Apr 25, 2009 2:20 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
The Posey post up has been part of the Hornets arensal all season
I’m not sure why cause its not particularly succesful – although sometimes it works.

I don't like the way NO has played this last few minutes
Even if they win they got way too comfortable with what was a relatively small lead.

we played great basketball 44 minutes then went cruise control just when denver was making a run
by nikkoewan on Apr 25, 2009 2:55 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Really should have had that game wrapped up
Before it even had the chance for Posey to throw his poor pass to Peja. Not good signs for Game 4 but a win gives hope.

yeah
posey could have called a timeout
by nikkoewan on Apr 25, 2009 3:03 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
we need to be more intense and focused but i don’t know if a 7-8 player rotation benefits the whole team or just makes everyone tired.
So glad for the win though!!! we’re back in it!!!
by Hornets#1 on Apr 25, 2009 3:19 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
peja needs to be more contributory though… his stats suck…
and since i wasn’t watching the whole game— how did Tyson foul out so quickly and also be so non-effective with offense?
by Hornets#1 on Apr 25, 2009 3:21 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Peja's shot wasn't there tonight
But he was a bright spot in the first two losses. If he can get going again in the next couple of games it will really help.
And he did a decent job on Melo tonight… Melo had 25 points but it took him 24 shots to get that.

Uh yeah because Tyson can control his injury?
by Caleb462 on Apr 25, 2009 4:05 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
He was tearing it up
before his injury 8pts 8 rbs 1 blk…. If he is injured then he shouldn’t try to play or at least shouldn’t be fouling out. Think if we had Joe Smith and Wilcox + some more cap space instead of him.
by kitsunegari on Apr 25, 2009 4:19 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
He's had injuries all season, so there is no "before his injury" this year really..
But if you’re a hornets fan then you know as well as I do that a healthy Tyson is one of the better defensive centers in the league. Averaging 12 boards a game for two consecutive seasons isn’t a fluke.
He shouldn’t try to play? Its the freaking playoffs, he’s going to do what he can to try and help the team. He had a couple of bad fouls yeah, but whatever – I’m happy with whatever he can gives us at this point.
As for Smith + Wilcox… it may have helped us, it may not have – there’s no way to know and its not worth worrying about.
by Caleb462 on Apr 25, 2009 5:14 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
I seriously thought...
…that we would lose this one. Guess I wasn’t wrong in thinking that. We must get better production out of Peja and Tyson. We do that and this series is back on track. Still think we lose the next one though.

Hi guys.
Here’s a Nugget fan.
How do you see the odds for Game 4 after today?
"Do not rest in defense. You can spend 24 seconds in offense on resting. If you do good enough on defense, you will be able to rest on offense."
by sepioes on Apr 25, 2009 4:59 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
50/50
The Hornets won despite not playing particularly well I thought… they won through solid defense and Chris Paul working his magic on the offensive end, but it was still a struggle offensively.
But I also expect the Nuggets to play better. Their shot selection was poor and they let Paul get in the lane over and over again.

Psyched up!
I don’t care if they lose, as long as they don’t let themselves get pushed around! That was the most physical I’ve seen this team, and I loved it. The crowd loved them. As for the end, they held the lead. Bottom line.
