Lil' Wayne on Byron, CP

From Lil' Wayne's ESPN blog/column/thing:

"Before we move on I need to point the finger at Byron Scott for allowing my man Chris Paul to get beat up so bad. It wasn't fair. It was like a 12-round fight out there. They were knocking him down to the ground each time down the court and then they were laughing about it. Byron Scott could have put two or three big guys in there just to stop the beating but he didn't. They physically injured him, and it was a shame."

Atthehive has already expressed interest in signing Weezy to the blogging team.

The Inside the NBA crew was essentially saying the same thing throughout the series…. only they called out the rest of the team and not Byron. That said, I’m not entirely sure what they wanted these guys to do? Was Sean Marks or someone supposed to lay Dahntay Jones out and get a flagrant call just to send a message?

Well… actually I guess that would have been pretty awesome.

I’d have preferred for DX to lay the smack down on KMart a la last year’s encounter with Dirk.

But yeah, someone should have stepped up and pushed back… wait, didn’t we sign Posey for that sort of thing?

The bad thing about this is no one on this team

had the balls to do anything. DX couldn’t even stand up for himself let alone stand up for CP. Tyson was on one leg, Posey isn’t the enforcer everybody thought he was. And no point looking at anyone else to step up.

I thought I was over the loses and how badly he was beat up but just reading this made me angry again. Wayne sat courtside and saw this first hand. And nobody else on that team saw it? Or wanted to do anything? It just pisses me off. They wanted to beat him up and succeeded because the rest of the team suck ass.

It was sad to watch. I need CP to use this as motivation next year.

Denver will get what they asked for in the Lakers and get bounced. I just hope they get pounded.
