As soon as the game ended last night, Stephen Jackson headed to the locker room to treat an injury thaty's been nagging him for almost a month. He has bruised ligaments in his left hand. He told reporters last night that it's been gradually getting worse for a month but he's trying to play through it. He has told LB about it and said that the lengthy season and minutes has taken a toll on him and he's pretty beaten up.
On the one hand (no pun intended) it explains his hideous shooting. On the other, it doesn't explain his hideous shot SELECTION.
My opinion? If it hurts the player, play through it. If it hurts the TEAM, sit the hell down.
Stephen Jackson - YOU are hurting your team. Do the right thing. Sit down. At the very least limit your minutes and let someone healthier fill in. If things get desperate, give it a try. We're playing lower tier teams right now. It's better to sit out or play very limited game minutes than be worse than you are now against someone like the Celtics or Cavs in the playoffs.
