Hi there. During the basketball season I'm known in these parts as "ourday." It appears though, that for at least part of this off season I'm your source for all things Larry Brown.
Seriously guys, there is yet another article about LB in the Philly Inquirer today. Larry is still making it damned clear that his entire focus is on coaching the Bobcats and he's even expanded his I'll only "coach" for Michael Jordan comments a bit. Now he's adding, "and all I want to do is coach" to imply he's not interested in a GM position in Philly either. The speed bump in this is his wife Shelly and his teenaged son and daughter. He's headed home this weekend to consult with them and try to work out a way for him to stay in Charlotte with them all together. Apparently they have stayed put so the kids can finish high school and Larry's worried about them growing up in his absence.
Here's the link, and he's being very forthright. My take is he's going to try to convince them that Charlotte is his favorite place of all the spots they've lived in and that they really should move here. Hell, if it would help I'd throw Shelly and the kids a welcoming party and even let the kids have my Wii and use the spare room for a crash pad.
Let's hope Larry's as good at selling Charlotte to Shelly as he was at selling ball control to Ray Felton.
Your link, good sirs:
