Marcus Thornton to the Kings?
I've been working on my mock draft and wanted to float an idea past you guys. At #5, I don't really love anyone for the Kings. I have Cousins and Favors gone and I don't love the fit of any of the players with the current roster. I also think that the key to that squad is finding the right pieces to put around Evans. I think Marcus Thornton could be an ideal complement to 'Reke at the 2.
Would you swap #11 and Thornton for Jason Thompson and #5? Personally, I think it's a great deal for the Hornets. They'd be able to grab Wes Johnson with the #5 to grab a nice running mate for CP3 and a nice big man to add to the rotation. Basically, the question is: would you rather have Thornton and Udoh/Patterson at #11 or Johnson and Thompson?

nah it would have to be Collison plus #11 for #4 and JT

Tyreke's the point guard though.
If Cousins falls to #5, I think the Kings grab him and forget the deal. But if Johnson is the person at the fifth pick, I think they could opt for moving down and filling in the 2 guard spot next to ’Reke and that would be Thornton, not Collison.
Maybe the Kings don’t give up JT. Replace him with Hawes? I’d say Casspi or Greene but it doesn’t make a ton of sense to move up to get a SF and then also get a SF in the trade. Or maybe the Hornets have to take on a longer deal in the trade, like Beno or Nocioni for Mo Peterson’s expiring deal.

collison is the better player. Evans might also be a better guard than point guard
they only have beno udrih at the point anyway

me is thinking...
thornton is untouchable, not only for his skill level, which is a hand and glove fit for CP3. but he is a NOLA native, growing a few hours from the Arena. so his marketability for this franchise is also huge. IF we do trade him to you, i think it would probably be for a steep price, something like Thornton and Peterson for Nocioni,Thompson and 5. See? That is a steep price, which the Kings would gladly decline….
