Isn't that an interested 'either'? They report goes on to say that the Houston Rockets are determined to match any offer for Scola, but it makes you wonder about the mindset of the Bobcats. I find it strange that the money they may be willing to offer Scola would not be used on Tyrus Thomas, or that this use of the term 'either' doesn't indicate that Scola is merely a backup plan in case they lose Thomas.
Then I thought about it some more.... what if this whole Michael Beasley scheme was really an elaborate ploy to get Luis Scola? Think about it... if the Bobcats already were aware that they would probably lose Tyrus Thomas maybe a secondary thought was to attempt to get Houston to bite on a trade giving them Tyson Chandler. With that extra $12 million on the books Houston wouldn't be able to match a front loaded offer sheet on Scola without going into luxury. A conspiracy theory, but an interesting scenario to think about.
