Around SBN: UFC 143 Predictions

The 2010 @tH Approval Ratings: Marcus Thornton

Positives: 17.4 PER (third among all qualified rookies), 37% from three, 55% true shooting, 51.7% eFG, 7.3% turnover rate among the lowest for players of his usage level, 111 ORtg, 3.4 FTA/36 minutes, 81% from the line,

Negatives: Missed 9 games because of Byron Scott? Didn't get drafted higher? Pretty much a flawless rookie campaign for Buckets

My Grade: 5

I think he is deserving of a 5. He exceeded expectations by a long shot for his rookie season.

He had an insane rookie year, and is a future star. Gosh, he’s on the trailer of NBA 2K11 with CP3 nowhere to be seen.

Gave him a 5 too. How could one not. 42nd pick with that kinda numbers and impact on the game.
Love the picture by the way. :D Nobody saw him coming!!!

Gave Him A Five

Just because someone FINALLY provided stability to the shooting guard position for this team. And I mean finally. This team hasn’t had a consistent starting two guard since David Wesley. That’s a long, long time ago. He showed some ability to create on his own, played well with Paul (he got promoted to the starting job right before Paul left) and looks as if he’ll be an efficient contributor either off of the bench or as a starter.

Was considering a 4.

But gave him a 5. The one little thing that made me hesitate is that MT hasn’t yet shown a complete all-round game, focusing mostly on scoring.

Still, like everyone said, a spectacular rookie season that greatly exceeded expectations.

Let’s not forget that he was acquired by Bower—one of the best 2nd round picks in recent history and he was Nola’s shortly after beign drafted. Kudos to Bower.
