Another little trade idea
Hi everyone. Its the dog days of agust (alright almost september) and I was looking at the hornets lineup again. We all agree that we need another Center and another Point Guard. I still hope that we sign Amundson and/or Ike as backup Power Forwards and that Bracks pans out. For the first time in ages, I think we all can agree that the Shooting Guard and Small Forward positions are set and really good (that feels good just typing it, I cant wait to actually see it). If we sign Amundson (shouldnt his "Decision" have happened already?) another quality plaer is needed at the Center position. My idea is to trade for Samuel Dalembert of the Kings. We send them Peja and maybe another second round draft pick and cash consideration. Peja used to be a fan favourit there and probably wouldnt mind ending his career in SacTown. Dalembert is "only" 29 and also expires after this season. Moreover, the Kings have a couple of young Center and Power Forward prospects and probably dont really need Dalembert.
The money works and our frontline would actually look really good with Okafor/Dalembert/Gray and West/(Amundson)/Bracks.
What do you guys think? Is it plausible and good for both teams?

Thats a valid point. But my understanding of the trade is that the Kings did not really trade for Dalembert to get him, but to get rid of Nocioni (who was not happy in Sactown and has a contract that runs through the 10/11 and the 11/12 season) and Hawes (who was not really in Wetsphals rotation). I believe the Kings do not really plan with Dalembert that much, but of course I could be mistaken. I am not following the Kings that closely. But that they just traded for him could be a problem.

Plus the fact that he is their only veteran big. They have Cousins and Whiteside but they are both unproven rookies. I see what you are saying about the trade but I still don’t think the Kings trade him.
I agree. That is the main hindrance in aquiring him. That might see him as a tutor. I didnt really think of that angle, since I cant see Dalembert tutoring anybody. I never figured him to be mature enough actually tutor somebody positively. But I guess you are right.

Yeah, me too. But that dude is probably just too good for the money he gets.
