Keeping CP3
For a few weeks we heard trade ideas by Magic, Trail Blazer, Knicks, etc. fans on how to get Chris Paul for Bench Player 1, Bench Player 2, and a bag of Wavy Lays. Then, the past few months it's been CP3's gonna leave if you don't trade for him, him and him. I think that one Big Baby-sized splash, a Western Conference Semis appearance, smart signings, and a bright future will be enough to keep Chris around for a while. So, here are my ideas to keep Jordan CP3's on the court in New Orleans.
1. The Big Baby sized splash: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=25zxlog
The Hornets would also send a 2011 1st round pick and cash considerations.
The Reasons:
Hornets: New Orleans gets a standout defender who can put up points when given the chance, also Speights is a good young Center, who could really be something. Chris gets a superstar to pair with, and the Front Office shows that its commited to winning. Though I'd rather have Danny Granger, there isn't much that we have that they want.
Sixers: They dump salary and get an expiring contract in Peja Stojakovic, plus another 1st round pick.
2. The Western Conference Semi's. Not much I can do about that, but I DO think that that's attainable with the updated roster.
3. Smart Signings. Guys like Lou Amundson, Josh Boone, etc. = Low risk, high reward deals.
4. A Bright Future. All of this equals a bright future for the Hornets.

Sixers
I really don’t think they would do this. They like their young players (Speights being one of them) and I don’t see them parting with any of them unless they get a great deal, which I do not think this is. They might deal Iguodala but not in a deal such as this.
That said, Iguodala would be great as a second option with Chris Paul.
Our problem is Defense
And AI9 is one of the best defenders out there. He can also put the ball in the bucket and would be a great running mate for CP3.

IMHO
i think to be able to improve defensively, we should start inside. West is really not a good defender. he’s an above average defender, WHEN motivated. otherwise, Bleh. so i don’t want to trade West, but if it nets us a better defensive PF(ehem JSmoove ehem) then go get Iggy, other wise Iggy won’t really help make our defense top tier
I'd LOVE
J-Smoove in NOLA, since he’s one of my favorite players, but what is ATL’s biggest need? PG. And I don’t think they’d take Mustafa Shakur and D-West for Smith.
