If they did I think they would be making a huge mistake. Gerald Wallace is an all star and the third best sf in the NBA. He just had a career year for God sakes and he is a steal and locked up for a few years. Who knows if Melo would stay if he was traded to Charlotte. I don't think he would. He is a very marketable player and Charlotte isn't exactly the premier place for a player to get attention. Plus his wife will want to be in a big city like Chicago, New York, or LA. I just don't see what the Bobcats can offer him that others teams can't do better. Plus he is not worth Crash. Not at all. He will want double his salary if he were to stay and would complain and demand to be traded if the Bobcats were not huge contenders. Right now the Bobcats are in a good place. They are capable of making the playoffs they have expirings that give them flexibility to work with. Whether they want to make a trade for a big or point guard or acquire some pieces through free agency. They are in a position where they can make huge upgrades soon. Also Carmelo is not nearly the defensive player Crash is, nor is he the rebounder, nor does he have the character Gerald Wallace possesses. The Bobcats are fine without him.
