Eric Gordon: The Most Underrated Player in the NBA
[READ THIS NOW. From the FanShots. This is a fantastic look at our new shooting guard, with insight into his game AND into one of the best nicknames in the league. In this post-Stern veto world, it's especially apt. COMMISSIONER GORDON. - Rohan]
A look at the Eric Gordon / Chris Paul trade with a comparison of Gordon to NBA Hall of famer Joe Dumars ...and Hollywood actor Gary Oldman.

Really Great Read
There seems to be a lot of praise from a lot of the non-mainstream media about Gordon coming over to New Orleans. Hopefully he stays on for the long term to be “the guy” in New Orleans and hopefully it works out great for him this year and beyond.
By the way, I’m a huge Gary Oldman fan and I still can’t believe he’s never received an Academy nomination. Not even a Golden Globe nomination! He should get one for his latest movie though.
"You play to win the game."
My favorite Clipper =[.
This is why you see many of the actual Clipper fans saddened by this trade. We’ve watched him get better and BETTER every year so far (it’s only his fourth year). I do believe he is going to make a huge leap this year and would have been instrumental in a playoff run anyway for the Clippers had the trade not gone down.
Good luck in NOLA EJ!
…btw I’m picking him up in my fantasy league for sure.

+10 (EJ's jersey # on the Hornets?)
I wish there was more action on this site. Would really like to talk Eric Gordon and the Hornets.
Eric Gordons nickname is "the hobbit" =)
Not “commish”

We tried to change it...but alas our collective Clipper fan powers were helpless...
Hopefully you can get it to Commish.

Isn't anyone else worried
He might start off slowly? So much praise and hype being thrown around that I fear the expectations are too great. First time being traded plus going to a different system…
Last season Eric Gordon struggled with his 3pt shot for the first month of the season, and he still was scoring 25 ppg.
I am sure he will be nervous at first…new team, new city, new players, new coach…but he will play HIS game of basketball.
My only concern
Gordon can create his own shot, yes – but a lot of his scoring was assisted as a Clipper. On the Hornets, with no Griffin to create great inside-outside opportunities and no real playmakers outside of maybe Jack to set up Gordon, how will he respond? His scoring might increase as he takes on the #1 role but his efficiency might take a dip. That said… for this season, it doesn’t really matter that much, and it may turn out that he can thrive as the go-to shot creator.
Either way I’m excited.
He is a decent play maker in his own right.
Not sure if you realize but he was also 3rd highest in the league in 4th quarter scoring (when defenses pressure) and he had the ball a good amount of the time. He can shoot and take his man off the dribble. This guy is good.
Here’s a REALLY good breakdown:

Hey man
I’ve been, uh… well, awful, actually – which is a big reason I haven’t been keeping in touch. Heh… it’s kind of an awkward question to answer these days. I’ll shoot you an e-mail later on.
If this doesn't get you excited about the Hornets future...
then you probably aren’t alive.
Ed Snider is a crotchety old fuck.
That is all.

Will Eric Gordon be the player...
…to take away our Marcus Thornton tears? (The profile makes it sound like he delivers better-than-Marcus offence while still playing Monty Wiliams-level defence – a combination that should keep him here as long as he wants).

Oh, he's for sure better than Thornton
But losing Thornton is still a horrible, painful thing in retrospect. I don’t know if anyone will let us get over him :(
would be nice
Would be nice to have MT now that we are rebuilding. Still not really a fan of his game, but this is kind of perfect situation for him (though he’d have to split time between SG/F – but tha’ts nthoing new).
