Welcome, Chris Kaman
We'll surely talk a lot more about Chris Kaman's basketball ability in the coming days* and months, in addition to his value as an expiring contract and so forth. His fit in the front court alongside Emeka Okafor, Carl Landry, and Jason Smith will be interesting to watch. But! Today, let us focus on more important things. Let us talk of the time Chris Kaman created his own trucking company, the time Chris Kaman shot a 1988 Ford Taurus with a .50 caliber rifle, and, indeed, the time Chris Kaman set off $10,000 worth of illegal explosives. Yes, let us do that now, via the medium of video. Hello Youtubes!
We start simple, with one of my favorite (inexplicably) Youtube videos of all time:
Next up, his trucking background..
Onto firing assorted weaponry!
And last but not least, illegal explosives!
Update: Youtube has apparently deleted the video, so you'll need to follow this link to see things explode. It's worth it, trust.
So there we are. Welcome Chris Kaman!
*and tonight! Join our game thread this evening to talk about our second game against the Memphis Grizzlies and likely Eric Gordon's first game as a Hornet.

Kaman
He’s a good player. When he can play.
But if Emeka and Kaman can’t play together in the front court, then we’ll have trouble at the 4.
I have to admit
…I used to be thankful that at least the Hornets did not have Kaman on our team. Now I want to take him hunting.

More than anything
hoping Kaman can stay relatively healthy. Gotta keep the trade value up.
Oh and welcome Gustavo Ayon

The report seemed cool.
Until I read 6’9" or 6’10" center? Ugh. We already have one of those. SIZE PLEASE.
From the video I watched of him
he looks to be pretty good. He could probably play the 4, and he runs the floor well. Seems like a good signing.

Yeah
If 7 footers were so easy to find, I’m sure teams would find them. And I’m sure the teams with the most money would pick them.
In our situation, got to try to find diamonds in the rough. I’ve got no problem with the signing.

I saw this on DraftExpress

Apparently most of the NBA was looking at him, they just didn’t want a lot of hype around him. DX also calls him a power forward.

Best Kaman video yet. Here is Kaman's new replacement Reggie Evans
grabbing Kaman’s nutsack from behind in a game. Hilarious if you have not ever seen it. Kamans reaction as well as the TNT studio crew’s is hilarious. I am a Clippers fan but look forward to watching the new look Hornets play tonight on NBA League Pass.

Who says no?
Kaveman should stay
Hey NOLO’s Just so it’s clear, I have come here from the land of LA and the Clippers. Yes, some of us actually will miss Chris Kaman and Eric Gordon and AFA. Spending the last two years watching them play and develop (in Eric’s case), I have grown fond of them. Kaman can flat out play when he wants. His midrange game is one of the best for a center. and he scraps under the basket. Eric Goirdon is a superstar. No dought about it. When healthy in La he was putting down abut 28 a night. He’s got mad skills. His defense is solid. You will enjoy what you have recieved. Trust me here. AFA (Al-Farouq Aminu) is fun to watch and Minns 2012 just might get you a #1 pick. You guys should be excited. Kaman, Gordon, and AFA play hard every night.

Let's at least see.....
From what I remember about Professional B-Ball players from overseas(especially centers) is MOST can dribble and pass pretty well and pretty decent scorers. Not saying all were great because they weren’t but lets at least see what he can do. Trust me people, I’m driving the bandwagon of “Taller Centers” but since we already have Kaman & J Smith, this guy Ayon might be a gem…. If Popovich wanted him, he has to be a little bit above average…
I agree with you
Draft Express (one of the most respected international scouting services) described him as a “steal” for us
