Pictures from Marcus Thornton's New Orleans Return
Matt McIntosh was courtside Saturday night for At the Hive during the Hornets-Kings game. After the jump, you can find a selection of some Matt's best shots from the game. For starters, here's a shot of Will hard at work.

Great pics!...
That close up of CJ Paul is a bit too close for comfort though. LOL!!
Look at how there are 3 Kings surrounding Ariza. Ready to swing. It’s dangerous out there! LOL!!
mW, ticktock and friend (is that snavetrebor?) looking nice keeping up their Team Thornton support.
for the record....
Ariza was the first Hornet I saw go over and talk to Thornton. CP was next. Eventually most of them did.
Team Thornton = the #twittersection without Will who was in nearly his normal seat, but one row back and on the exact opposite side of the arena.
Rohan has a thing for shoes, so I’m under orders to take pictures of them. Don’t ask me….
Cj was sitting with CP3s son. I would have taken a pic (Layne, the NBA photographer was), but without explicit permission from CP, I wont take it. I’m not a paparazzi.
As I mentioned in Will’s stellar recap, watching Marcus in a Kings jersey was like seeing my ex wife with her new boyfriend.
I saw CP's mom sitting...
next to CJ with little CP on her lap.
Ive seen his mom before
and took her picture but I couldn’t ID her her convincingly.
Yeah seeing Marcus...
with another jersey on does seem strange. But just like I learned to let J.R. Smith go, I’ll learn to let Marcus go too.
Good Work
It’s pretty cool that this site has its own photographer in all honesty. And he’s pretty damn good too. I, in particulary, liked the one picture from behind West where we see him getting a rebound. Pretty neat.
However, I noticed in the clarity of your photos that there are starting to be a lot of empty seats again in the New Orleans Arena. That’s kind of a shame.

I wouldnt judge the crowd by those first pics
That was before team intros and many people hadnt arrived/were still getting tanked at Buzzfest.
That one of West is my favorite. The guy sitting next to me was the NBA official photographer and he has something no other photographer has: a remote to fire the flashes from the roof. That’s why the shot is blow out (and the black line on the right is there). Even blown out, the shot looks like DWest has the light from heaven shining on him. You can almost hear the choir singing….lol
Oh
Yeah I wasn’t judging by the pregame shots. The crowd wasn’t awful in terms of numbers but it does suck (for lack of a better word) that the crowd was rocking and sold out back in January to meet the deadline and then now it’s just not up to that capacity or that level of excitement. But that was just an aside.

I agree ....
those empty seats look especially bad in photos. Also, the arena should be full with the team making a push towards the playoffs. It wouldn’t surprise me if Saturday’s game is the last time they sell out a regular season game this year.
that would be him
I threaten to steal his equipment every time I see him or Pat. Their equipment costs more than my annual salary. I am GREEN with envy watching them.
LOL!...
Your shots are really great though.
Nice pics there Matt!
You got some great action shots under the basket. I agree with you about the David West picture – even though it ended up a little overexposed, the lighting gives it a very unique look. And I hear you about “photographer’s envy” – as soon as you buy a DSLR, you discover all the extra ways you can spend money on it. :) (“Okay, I need some extra lenses, and a flash, and then maybe another flash, and some radio triggers, and what the heck, let’s get an additional body so I don’t have to swap lenses and….”).

oh yeah....
I need:
2 – Canon 1D Mk IV ($5,000 each)
1- Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS ($1,500)
1- Canon 300mm f.2L IS ($8,000)
plus batteries….packs….all the accessories. Just pisses you off eventually.
Did a serious double take when I saw this post
I had no clue you walked up and took a pic of me haha. I thought you took one from down on the floor.
Im sneaky
Im pretty sure you were watching porn on the Hornets internet…. :P
I don't see any pictures on that screen, but...
he could be reading erotic short stories. Perhaps they are hornets-themed. :)
