Despite a series of questionable calls in the final minute, the Hornets beat the Jazz behind a clutch Ryan Anderson three and a Greivis Vasquez runner off glass with 1 second remaining. The refs gave a clear Hornets possession call to the Jazz before refusing to double-check a Ryan Anderson block/charge call via video review though it qualified under one of the new additions to expanded video replay for this season. But Anderson and Vasquez made them pay, and the Hornets got their first win.

Forgetting the result though, the bigger story was obviously Anthony Davis, who left in the first half after Austin Rivers dealt him a brutal elbow to the head. Fox Sports New Orleans reported that Davis was unable to answer preliminary concussion test questions ("what day is it", "who do you play for", etc) and that the team has now moved onto physical tests. I'd be surprised if the team allowed him to play tomorrow in Chicago.

Al-Farouq Aminu had another excellent game on both ends, once again the team's best defender (possibly) and using transition very effectively to fuel his offense. It's only two games in, but he looks like an entirely different player from the one we acquired from Los Angeles less than a year ago. Greivis Vasquez once again contributed double digit assists, with 10.
