Marc Spears is reporting that the Pelicans will be the new nickname, beginning as soon as next year. Obviously the team is not going to confirm this because they have a boatload of merchandise to move between now and the announcement, likely after the season. I have always hoped for either the Pelicans or the Krewe so I am on board. Of the mock ups I have seen so far this is my favorite. Very retro.
