Hornets Funday Monday

Good morning everyone. I hope everyone is ready for the Hornets game tonight against the Jazz. I will be watching eagerly. I thought that for today's pre-game activity we could try something that I discuss with my co-workers and friends every Monday. We title this Funday, Monday because today we sit around and discuss, argue, and 'give our two cents' more or less on what ways we want to see the Hornets change. Sounds vague, right? So let me narrow this down. I would like for you guys to tell me for example, who would be the best fit for SG position? Why? and more so how do we go about getting him? So we don't blow this game out of proportion, try to be realistic. Please refrain from saying we need Lebron James and we could just trade everybody. Because let's be real, Lebron would never come here. Also, please be mannered in these conversations.

Well, since I brought it up, I'll get us kicked off. Who would I love to see in a Hornets jersey? How about Steve Nash. He is on an expiring contract and could come cheap. Furthermore, that will give us a point guard that can run the offense alone, letting Monty focus on defense. We will get a point that can teach a young asset for the next two years and provide offensive chemistry. Nash's contract extension in Phoenix was 22 million for two years in '09. That means in free agency, unless someone offers more, that the Hornets could nab him for 20 mil minimum for two years. Where does that cap come from? Don't resign Gordon, Kaman's contract, and a list of salary we could dump this off season. Then if the Hornets draft well, get young talent, you could build a team under Nash leadership and pass it on when his contract expires.

There you have it guys. Give me your input, but remember, if you say something, defend your statement and then post your Funday, Monday scenario. Don't be afraid to put your ideas down for others to see. So let's have fun today, have some good discussions, and check back late, late tonight or tomorrow morning for the breakdown on tonight's Hornets game against the Jazz.
