Hornets Updates, 2/16
Recaps of Hornets win at Bucks...Quotes from players...Carmelo Anthony could return for Knicks vs. Hornets Friday
Wrapping up last night's game:
Brandon Jennings on the Hornets' Offensive Rebounds
From NBA.com:
"We're playing so hard, and then we give up an offensive rebound, and then we give up another offensive rebound, and you're kind of rolling your eyes and you're like, 'Geez!' And then they score or get fouled and you're back to Square One."
Chris Kaman on Tapping out to Belinelli
From NBA.com:
"That's hard for me because I don't like just hitting the ball because I don't know where it's going. But on that one I knew Marco was right there and I knew (Milwaukee's Stephen) Jackson was coming to me, so I knew all I could really do was tip it and it would get to Marco. I just wanted to get the ball back for our team because we were only up two points and it was a key possession."
Carmelo Anthony Could Return vs. Hornets on Friday
From New York Times:
Carmelo Anthony could return to the lineup Friday, against the New Orleans Hornets, Mike D’Antoni said. Anthony did some running Wednesday as he continued his recovery from a strained groin muscle.

Good win...
Glad to see our team still has pride… Based on what we have on the line as far as getting top flight picks in the draft, it’s still good to see that their hard work is translating into wins. We get another against the knicks, who knows we might get a nationally televised game.

You know what I'm wondering about?
Had linsanity not happened, would this Friday’s game have still been on ESPN? Hornets – one of the worst teams in the league. Knicks – were off to a 8-14 start and headed nowhere fast with an ailing Melo.
As Far As I know
It’s not on ESPN anymore. They already bumped it for the Mavericks and 76ers.

I Think Because Of The Lingerbread Man
That they wish they hadn’t.

The only reason it ever was going to be on TV
is because of the CP/NY drama. Which didn’t pan out, much to the dismay of ESPN.
Reppin' the Lafayette Hornets fans.
Not gonna hate on the Mavs/76's game...
They’re doing what they needed to do to be in that spot. The Hornets were prob 2 wins away from being there. It’s still a lot of games to be played and besides, we want those top flight picks in the draft & we want publicity but when you’ve won 6 out of 29 games you can’t have both. Unfortunately losing/bad teams don’t get that (tv time). It just sucks cuz we’re really not that bad but our record says otherwise…

Haha
was more or less being sarcastic. Would have been nice though to get fan bases to start clamoring for Kaman and get Ayon some good exposure.
Question from a Raptors Fan.
When the Hornets acquired AAron Gray did you guys know that it was a package deal? Gray + ppellico? I don’t think the Raptors or RaptorsHQ was ready for this package when he signed in Toronto.

Hahaha
This post is great. ppellico is like a pop icon on these boards. For both the good and bad reasons.

But Aaron Gray…Really?? It’s almost an unhealthy delusion. According to him we have the worst head coach in the league on a team that is 9-22 and probably overachieving because Aaron Gray doesn’t play 30 minutes a night.
Thanks for the input, I just wanted to know if you remember him.

Yes, We Remember
People bring him up all the time here even in his absence.
In fact, someone actually asked if his disappearance had any relation to Gray signing with Toronto. Then someone linked his profile and we saw that he had headed to y’all’s blog.
He does love his Aaron Gray. Big 7 footers with wide body and nimble feet don’t grow on trees.

never seen such a unique fan of a mediocre player before but it’s not a bad thing. The entertainment value is top notch is unbeatable.
