Carl Landry Has Grade-2 MCL Sprain; Hornets to Sign Lance Thomas
The Hornets are yet to release an official statement on Carl Landry's injury today, but Landry has already twat the following:
It's the same injury, apparently, as the one sustained by Chicago Bears' running back Matt Forte this season, who was projected to be out 2-6 weeks after the injury. Obviously, the two players don't play the same sport, but it wouldn't seem too much of a surprise if Landry was out for somewhere around a month (or between 10 to 15 games).
The Times-Pic also reports that the Hornets will sign forward Lance Thomas, cut by the team in December after the win against the Boston Celtics, to a 10-day contract.

So ... no trading Landry
I’m sure the assumption for many of us was that Landry might get traded sometime this year; this would be the deal killer if that ETA is correct. Not that trading him was in Demps’ plans, but Landry honestly is not good value for the money so far. Unless we are so rich in our small market that we can pay him 9 mil to be the “impact” sub he is.
I don’t find this injury such a big deal. We suck WITH Landry. Without him … Ayon maybe gets a chance to showcase his rather diverse (and considerably more team-friendly) skill portfolio. I admit I get really excited to see Gustavo enter the game. His off-ball movement and lateral agility are superior to Landry’s … Ayon should be the “impact” bench guy.
You can trade injured players
Those players who have injuries that wont take very long to heal. We go Xavier that way. Landry will have probably played his last game of the season for the HORNETS though. Will probably get a second rounder for it.
Landry Out
3-4 weeks from what I heard. He’ll be back before the deadline.
