The Hornets have done very well in 2012. Of course, they drafted Anthony Davis 1st overall and he will be an immediate force in the league. But the huge surprise was drafting Austin Rivers at the 10th overall pick. I didn't really imagine Rivers in a Hornets uniform. I actually thought we would go to the Trail Blazers. But this is a huge combination for the Hornets. They get Anthony Davis and Austin Rivers who both in college were dominant players. Then if New Orleans can, they would bring back Eric Gordon. That would be the true Killer Bee if the Hornets resign Gordon. First you have Anthony Davis who people are already saying is going to be the difference maker in the league. Davis averaged 14.3 points at Kentucky but he averaged 4.7 blocks which is outstanding defense. Then you have Doc Rivers son Austin Rivers is just a complete shooter. Rivers would most likely replace Jarret Jack at the point, he averaged 15.5 points at Duke and 4.5 assist. Then you have Eric Gordon, who's already shown in this league he can play at a All-Star level if he can avoid injuries. The other season ago with the Clippers, Gordon averaged a career high 22 points. This year with New Orleans, he averaged 20 points but in only 9 games.
If Gordon is healthy then this will form The Hornets youngest Big 3. Eric Gordon who is only about 23 years old, Austin Rivers is only 19 and then Anthony Davis who is also just 19 years old.
