After looking at the current roster, it looks like the Hornets have 4 true guards on the active roster vs. 8 forwards/centers. I understand that there are some uncertainties in the front court, but the depth of the guard position needs some attention.

There are quite a few people that are impressed with Brian Roberts. Maybe he is the answer. Personally, I liked Dyson, but I like the add of Lopez better so that doesn't help my argument. I believe that the Hornets still need another point guard. You know, just in case the Rivers experiment doesn't necessarily work out.

As of now, Vasquez is our starting PG. I like him as a back up. Not in love with his ability as a starter. I can deal with him running that role this season, but I think we need a guard who could run the point beyond Rivers in case of injuries.

There are a couple of guys left that I would take a chance on if Roberts isn't the answer. Jonny Flynn, Jordan Farmar, and Leandro Barbosa would be guys I'd take a chance on if healthy. It doesn't help that I no longer believe in Henry being a back up to Gordon. Man, I'd feel so much better if Belli and/or Jack was still on this team.

I will say this. I really like the addition of Lopez. I know he hasn't been impressive so far, but he could give us some solid minutes at center. I just think of it as saving money for what we would've been paying Okafor. Robin has a chance to get more minutes and improve. He's still young and could be a great unexpected piece for this season.

But still, when you have 4 guards and one of them is Xavier Henry, there has to be something done about that.
