After hearing news that Eric Gordon would sign a 4 year, 58 million dollar offer sheet from the Phoenix Suns, the reports have started to trickle out that the Hornets will indeed match this offer in order to retain the star shooting guard. Both Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! and David Aldridge of TNT have reported that New Orleans will match the Suns' offer, even after seeing Gordon's apparent desire to play in the desert. We have, as of yet, not seen any indication that Gordon's new found love of Arizona is strong enough to cause him to accept the qualifying offer from the Hornets to become an unrestricted free agent next year (extremely doubtful), or mount some other sort of protest. I expect Gordon will sign his rather enormous contract and say that he is happy to be back in New Orleans. We will see how this plays out in the next few days. Stay tuned.
