It took them to the final game of the Olympic Qualifying Tournament to qualify but qualify they did for the first time by beating the Dominican Republic. Al-Farouq had 14 points 7 rebounds 4 assists and 5 blocks in the game. He was everywhere. Nigeria may still be a bit short in top level talent but they are really an exciting team.
Ike Diogu of the Nigerian team was the tournament MVP averaging 16.6 and 10.8 for the tournament. As a side note Diogu was born in Buffalo N.Y. which is where I was born.
