- Bloomberg released data over the weekend, ranking professional sports franchises by dollars spent per win over the past five years. The Hornets cracked the top 50.

- In the lead-in to this week's Democratic National Convention in North Carolina, the New York Times lists the small footnote of how the Hornets got their name.
