Cold Cave - Confetti (via rockalbatross)
After starting off the season with a 4-19 record, Toronto has started to turn things around on a dime, Since then, they're 9-3.
Much of this has happened without former No. 1 pick Andrea Bargnani, once again putting him on the trading block. Well, not that he's been off it in a while. In fact, while we're on it, Raptors HQ made this fantastic infomercial to shop Bargnani.
The real saving grace of the Raptors has been DeMar DeRozan, coming off that big, nearly $40 million extension. He's scoring 18 points per game and has been much more solid than his previous season, in which he regressed after his first two seasons.
The big change between the Raptors slow start and more recent hot streak is the defense. In the past 12 games, opponents have scored 100 points only three times. In the first 23 games, opponents had 12 games scoring more than 100 points.
Once again, beware of Kyle Lowry, an all-around threat at point guard to slash, dish and hit the outside shot. And if you like trips down memory lane, the Raptors have Alan Anderson!
Raptors - Andrea Bargnani (torn ligaments in right elbow, out indefinitely), Aaron Gray (flu symptoms, missed Wednesday's game), Linas Klieza (sore right knee, missed Wed. game), Terrence Ross (sprained right ankle, missed Wed. game but expected to play tonight), Jonas Valanciunas (fractured finger, out a couple more weeks)
