After an awful start, New Orleans not only pulled even but dismissed the Timberwolves comfortably.
Nico's got the full recap of this one, but some quick thoughts in the meanwhile:
- Greivis Vasquez, yet again, was fantastic. 18 points, 13 assists, just 2 turnovers, and outside of the 2-for-1 at the end of the third, Vasquez made very few mistakes on the floor. Even more encouragingly, his chemistry with Anthony Davis is rapidly growing too. On a couple of his assists to him, the pass was made well before Davis actually turned to see the ball.
- Al Aminu's contributions on the glass and in the passing lanes were again invaluable. The talk of "if he had a jumper..." will persist, but even without one, he's doing positive things on the court every single night now.
- Outside of Minnesota's insistence on throwing up garbage time points, the Hornets played another great defensive game overall. They forced turnovers, rebounded the ball, and closed out on shooters well. The one negative was the number of free throws allowed, though as some sections of the crowd would have told you, that may not have been entirely the team's fault.
- Another poor shooting night for Gordon. Hopefully he turns the corner here soon.
- Your thoughts?
