Charlotte Bobcats at Indiana Pacers game preview

Game Overview:

Paul George. Paul George. Paul George.

Paul George?

Paul George!

In the otherwise painful to watch Thursday night marquee game against the Knicks, Pacers forward Paul George put on a show before a national audience. George scored as many points as shot attempts, but with the game's inefficient offenses, it was rather impressive. He was everywhere on the court. George finished with an amazing six steals, 11 rebounds, five assists, a block and only one turnover.

It was quite Gerald Wallace-esque.

The Pacers had a stumbling start to their season, including a loss to the Bobcats on their second game of the year. But now they're on a three-game winning streak and have won 18 of their last 25.

This comes despite a stunning regression in last year all-star Roy Hibbert's scoring. David West has done well in the wake of Hibbert's dip, taking an increase in shots and also getting to the free-throw line more.

Indiana is a top defensive squad, holding opponents to the lowest shooting percentages, yet also without fouling much at all. They run a slow pace and are perfectly comfortable sticking to their halfcourt offense. They don't turn the ball over much, and nor do they force their opponents to turn the ball over much either.

Considering how much the Bobcats lack an offensive system besides the "whatever works" system in dribble-drive penetration, they'll have a hard time scoring to keep up with Indiana.

I don't think we'll see the same game we saw to begin the season. That one was marked with some remarkable luck. The Pacers don't shoot free throws very well but in that game they only made 16 of 27. Their defense has solidified since then despite offensive weaknesses.
