NBA Trade Rumors: What Would Comprise a "Good" Eric Gordon Trade?

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

There's been a lot of talk of a potential Eric Gordon deal, but so far it's been all smoke and not even a hint of fire.

Still, it's probably a good idea to preemptively discuss what would comprise a good Gordon deal if such a thing does end up hitting.

For me, a deal like the rumored one New Orleans would like to make involving Klay Thompson would be the baseline -- a young player with future potential, with the team having to take back a bad deal or two to make the money work. If those deals did not come off the books by 2014 though, I'd balk.

And on top of that, I'm still not sure I'd do a Gordon-for-Thompson swap anyway without knowing more about Gordon's health. Thompson's a solid shooter, but given his paltry FTA/36 numbers and the fact that he's borderline terrible from inside the arc (his overall FG% stands at a very poor 41% despite a 3P% of 39%), I'm not convinced he's blowing up into an All-Star talent in the near future. But it's possible.

Anyway, if Gordon is indeed moved, what do you expect to get back at minimum?
