Derick E. Hingle-US PRESSWIRE
The NBA trade deadline is upon us, yet with so little activity up to this point, it hasn't gripped fans' interest like years past. Eric Gordon's name has been mentioned a number of times over the last week, but it appears he'll remain in New Orleans. Dealer Demps doesn't appear interested in selling low and that's probably a good thing for a franchise still several years away from legitimate contention.
Will the Hornet's make any other deals? Should they? What say you?
No one should be surprised if Roger Mason has likely garnered some interest around the league and perhaps we could land a decent future 2nd round pick for him. Once J.J. Redick is off the board, expect contenders to come calling for other shooters a la Mason, Ben Gordon and Mike Dunleavy.
Also, feel free to discuss other trades that aren't related to the Hornets. What did you all think of Houston landing Thomas Robinson yesterday? At the very least, it doesn't seem like a bad gamble on the 5th pick of last year's draft. Or how about the Suns picking up Marcus Morris? Reportedly, both brothers were overjoyed upon learning of the transaction and it'll be interesting to see if they can spur one another to bigger and better things. You better believe the rest of their family will be happy to be able to cut their travel costs in half.
