Here's Zach Lowe's piece, "Charlotte's Web". It's quite excellent.
I definitely recommend reading that. It gives a really fair and deep look into what exactly our FO has been doing. It was surprising to me that this article wasn't just Bill Simmons or any other national pundit taking a huge collective crap on our franchise... blatantly.
I get a strong sense of confusion from his writing, and it's been clear from the beginning that Lowe was never truly behind us signing Al Jefferson. Which is fine. He makes some very valid points as to why it seems like we're making very little progress (and while I agree with him a bit, I never expected us to turn into title contenders overnight. ever), and he goes on to discuss the strategy behind all of our moves so far.
If the Al Jefferson signing doesn't do anything else for us, it moves us to mediocracy, which is a huge leap in comparison to where we've been for the last few years. It's foolish to think or expect that we have a chance at 30+ wins this year, and even more foolish to think or expect for us to get to the ECF with this roster. But I truly believe that we've been making some moves in the right direction, and Lowe speaks on that.. even if he's still confused by it. It's just refreshing to hear that from somebody that's not a ROFer.
TL;DR: Read Lowe's article; We should get out of the cellar this year; God we need a superstar
