Knicks Q&A with Posting and Toasting

Jim O'Connor-USA TODAY Sports

Seth Rosenthal from Posting and Toasting gives us the lowdown in our Q&A about the New York Knicks.

After starting 2014 well, the Knicks have lost four straight. What's been the biggest reason for the skid?

I guess they reverted. There are soooo many reasons, but the main thing is that their defense is completely broken. Every part of it. The Knicks' lack of cohesion and trust in one another leads to teams getting whatever they want-- transition scores, open jumpers, free throws, rebounds. All of it. It is the worst defense I've ever seen them play.

How has Raymond Felton played this year, particularly after returning from injury?

Pretty poorly. Not shooting well, not having a good time running the offense by himself, and not defending even a little bit.

From a strictly player performance/on court standpoint what do the Knicks need to improve on right now?

I'm sorry if this is a cop-out, but: pretty much everything. Rudimentary things: Trying, following schemes, helping one another, seeking open shots. That kind of stuff. They are so bad.

It's New York so there are always going to be distractions, do you see the JR Smith issues (and any others) as being anything too big that a win streak can solve?

Nah, no one cares about that stuff if the Knicks are winning. It hardly mattered in the first place.

Does anyone know if JR gets dealt this year? Do you think he does?

I don't know, and don't think so. Who would trade for J.R. Smith?

Tim Hardaway Jr has been a nice surprise at times, is he going to be counted on to be a constant contributor this season?

His minutes are sort of spotty, but yeah, I think he's relied upon as much as I've ever seen Mike Woodson rely on a guy with his inexperience. When the team's this bad it doesn't especially matter, but still.

Do you miss Rasheed Wallace?

Yes, a lot. He was fun to have around.

I bet. We all miss Sheed. Huge thanks to Seth for taking the time. Check out his work and Knick coverage at Posting and Toasting.
