Bobcats official press release regarding yesterday's trade (and letter from Rod Higgins)

Dear Adam,

Earlier today we acquired guards Gary Neal and Luke Ridnour from the Milwaukee Bucks for guard Ramon Sessions and forward Jeff Adrien. Although it is tough to see Ramon and Jeff leave - both were true professionals - we're excited to add Gary and Luke to our team and believe that this move will help us down the stretch as we battle for the NBA Playoffs.

Both Gary and Luke are veterans who have played in the playoffs and have been a part of very successful teams, with Gary reaching the NBA Finals as a member of the San Antonio Spurs. They know what it takes to win in this league and will strengthen our bench, add depth and contribute immediately.

Gary is a career 40% three-point shooter who will help us spread the floor and take advantage of having a strong low-post presence in Al Jefferson. He addresses one of our team's biggest needs - outside shooting. In addition to being a very good spot-up shooter, Gary has the ability to create his own shot. Luke is a versatile point guard who adds experience and leadership to our team. He is known as a great teammate and also gives us another player that is a good outside shooter (shooting 37% from three-point range this season).

This trade allows us to improve our team for this season, yet does not handicap us in the future or impact our future flexibility. We have retained our key assets - both players and draft picks - and will have an opportunity to continue to improve our team this offseason via the draft, free agency or additional trades.

We are excited about the strides our team has made this season under the leadership of head coach Steve Clifford and his staff. Our team has been playing hard, competing every night, and as a result we have 25 wins and are currently in the eighth and final spot in the Eastern Conference playoff chase. We hope you are looking forward to the last two months of the season as much as we are. I hope to see you at Time Warner Cable Arena at an upcoming game.
