Charlotte Bobcats vs Philadelphia 76ers game preview

Apr 2, 2014; Philadelphia, PA, USA; Charlotte Bobcats guard Chris Douglas-Roberts (55) passes the ball under pressure from Philadelphia 76ers forward Hollis Thompson (31) during the second quarter at the Wells Fargo Center - Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

Gametime: 7:00 p.m. EST

Though the Bobcats crapped their pants last night, dropping a winnable game against a lottery team in uncharacteristic fashion, their fate might not yet be sealed.

Kemba Walker or not, Charlotte should be fine against a team as bad as the 76ers, who only excel at ensuring they sweat running up and down the court as much as possible. I'm pretty sure their best passing comes from accidental deflections from near-turnovers.

Sure, the Bobcats are on the tail end of a back-to-back, but it'd take a pretty terrific combination of great offense and poor Charlotte defense for Philadelphia to surprise the Bobcats. Trap games are a thing but after watching the 2012 Bobcats, there's only so far the element of surprise can take you with an utter lack of talent.

The Bobcats, now back in the 7th seed, face some pretty uncomfortable odds at reclaiming the 6th seed. They'll pretty much need to win out, starting tonight.

Washington has a game tonight against Milwaukee before playing the Heat and Boston next week. Miami may be trying to grab the top seed in the East, they could rest their starters who might need it. The Wizards pretty much control their destiny.

Charlotte's remaining games are against the Hawks and the Bulls after this one. It is possible that those teams rest their starters if they clinch their spots before playing the Cats -- Atlanta has a two-game lead over New York for the 8th seed, and Chicago currently has a game lead over Toronto for No. 3. Regardless, playing from behind will have Charlotte needing a win in each of their last three games.
