Jefferson tore his plantar fascia in the first quarter of Game 1, but had been playing through pain that he describes as "stepping on nails."
At this point, we've become to accustomed to Jefferson toughing out what must be excruciating pain, even with numbing shots. Watching him post double-digits in the first quarter despite his injury has been a convincing performance to try to convince us it's not too bad, but this had to come at some point.
It's all the more sad that it's been in futility as the Bobcats get closer to being unceremoniously swept by the defending champions. Jefferson tried to shoulder the meek Charlotte offense on top of a bum foot and it struggled mightily without him.
