With the 45th overall pick of the draft, the Hornets drafted Stanford power forward Dwight Powell.
With Noah Vonleh, the Hornets perhaps addressed their starting power forward need, though his development might need more time. Still, they added more frontcourt help in Powell.
Powell adds some size with a 6'11" frame and 7'1" wingspan for the Hornets bench. Per DraftExpress, he's got good touch and a nice hook shot with his right hand hook shot. He seems to have a good understanding of the game and can pass capably as a center. However, he'll need work on his jump shot. It isn't broken or anything, it just needs a lot of repetition to work into his muscle memory.
Anyway, I don't know much about him so check that DraftExpress link for more info.
