The NBA announced their All-Star starters and released the final voting numbers for the All-Star Game. A late Kemba Walker push was not enough to break the top 10 most-voted guards in the East and Al Jefferson finished 12 in the Eastern Conference's frontcourt with 110,980 votes.
All-Star reserves will be announced on January 29. Perhaps we will see a Hornet make the roster then?

Cody Zeller named to SI's Rising Stars Challenge's new 'USA vs. World' team

Sports Illustrated's Ben Golliver posted an article explaining the All-Star weekend's Rising Stars Challenge's new format, which will be USA vs. the World. Seems like a pretty straightforward format to me, but whatever. He also predicts what the rosters will look like, and named the Hornets' Cody Zeller to the US squad.
Of Zeller, Golliver notes that while he earned a spot in the starting rotation for the team, "he’ll need to add range to his shooting if he wants to find success as a stretch forward."

Lance Stephenson's latest piece of work with Bismack Biyombo earned a spot on NBA.com's Top Ten plays from Wednesday night. Though, I have to ask: where is Michael Kidd-Gilchrist's soaring slam?

Hornets have 21.2 percent chance to make the playoffs, according to FiveThirtyEight

Old friends of At The Hive, FiveThirtyEight, are back again. They released their first NBA power ratings and playoff odds for the season, and, much like their preseason ratings, they are not very kind to the Hornets. Charlotte ranks 17th in the NBA, with total rating of -0.8, 34.7 expected wins and a 21.2 percent chance of making the playoffs — fifth-worst percent chance in the East. Further explanation of the ratings can be found on the website.

MKG has a burger named after him

Charlotte Hornets forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has hamburger named after him. It looks delicious. Kidd-Gilchrist worked with chefs David Lucarelli and Rifali Almunir of the Cowfish to develop the Motor Keeps Going, which will cost you $20. There's also a feel-good catch, too — $5 of every sale will go to A Child's Place, a well-known charity that helps homeless children find stability in their lives through housing and schooling. The half-pound turkey burger reflects MKG's healthy eating choices and comes with sweet potato fries and a vegetarian sushi roll. You can learn more about Cowfish by visiting www.thecowfish.com.
