I just finished a long conversation with Matt of Hardwood Paroxysm for the Paroxysm Podcast (I'll post a link when it goes up; I hear Brett from Queen City Hoops is also slated to be on the episode), and it prompted a thought experiment.
Given the moves the Bobcats have made right up to now, which successful NBA team from 1980 onward -- the start of the Magic-Bird era -- is the model the franchise should emulate?
For instance, if you were to argue they should follow the path blazed by the Doug Moe Nuggets, you'd advocate the Bobcats adopt a wildly unconventional style of play that fits their unique culture and presents a unique challenge for opponents regardless of personnel.
